When a 90 year old worker, pushing carts at @WinnDixie supermarket in Metairie, Louisiana, was stopped by shopper @karenswensen, who asked why he was working on a sweltering hot day, he said: “to eat.” Within 24 hours, Karen raised 224,000 + on @gofundme for the 90 year old veteran who says he still won’t retire, but can now work without worry.

I have a lot of thoughts on what happened at Ole Miss yesterday— as someone who is both a Black Mississippian and Palestinian, and as someone who has worked every minute of every day since October 2023 on the ongoing situation in Gaza.
We continue to see history repeat itself.
