So. The leader of my province, @ABDanielleSmith, on her first official workday, said that unvaccinated people were "the most discriminated against group that I've ever witnessed in my lifetime." @ABDanielleSmith was born in April 1971.

I live in a province that publishes a list of every teacher for the last four decades, even the dead & dead named ones, but won’t publish a list of current class sizes.

It’s disappointing to see a registry no one asked for released today, to see class sizes grow, supports for students’ needs reduced, a unwanted curriculum hastily implemented, and a Minister consistently dismiss the concerns of parents and teachers. But maybe that’s just me.

It’s that time of year again. Some people believe teachers have paid summer vacation. Here’s a recap:
-we are 10 month employees not 12
-our pay is spread over 12 months
-summer pay is money we’ve already earned
-we are still teaching/learning/planning during the summer

In 1891, a fifth child was born to a couple in Canada in a farm house. He would try in vain in 1914 to join the Army to serve his country but was turned away for physical issues. He was ultimately able to join the Army the next year and allowed to serve as he had been training:

We always talk about the COST of education, as if it's a burden.
But economically, education is a tremendous ASSET. And when you've got an asset, you protect it. You value it. And you invest in it.
