I started just before the 2021 Bitcoin top, lost money in the FTX collapse and had to rebuild from scratch.
Rebuilding my trading account taught me the order that matters: Process first. Risk managed. Profit later!
I'm Sem, a Price Action Trader from the Netherlands.
I worked weekend shifts for 2.5 years so I could trade Monday to Friday and build my trading process, all while raising a family with my wife.
I trade based on:
Structure โข Liquidity โข Risk.
Mainly Swing Failure Patterns (SFPs) on bitcoin:native and ethereum:native
On X I share my framework, charts, trades and the lessons I learned along the way. Let's talk about it!
New here? ๐
Start at semtrades.com/
There you'll find my full trading process (STOS) explained step by step, my journey, and 2 downloads: my E-book and the Excel trade journal I personally use.
Everything is 100% free:
No signups. No referral links.
No paywall, it's zero monetization!
When I started trading I learned from traders who shared openly and freely. This is me paying it forward.
Nothing I post is financial advice!
It's just the trading process that works for me.
I didn't start with a process.
In 2021 I bought Bitcoin, watched the first drop, added on the recovery and held through the bear market.
That wasn't a strategy. I was holding and hoping.
During the decline I sold part of it for everyday expenses. Later, one of my two small daytrading accounts disappeared in the FTX collapse.
No stop on a chart protects you from the exchange failing.
The turning point was taking responsibility for the decisions I could control.
I had followed predictions instead of information. So I moved towards cleaner charts, structure and the auction behind them.
Screen time, small positions, mistakes and a journal slowly made the picture clearer.
Having a view is easy.
Knowing what would prove it wrong takes more work.
GM.
A good loss is possible.
Valid setup, planned size, correct execution, accepted invalidation.
A bad win is possible too.
Forced entry, broken rules, lucky outcome.
If I judge only the money, I can train myself to repeat the wrong behaviour.
This is why I review the decision, not the PnL.
The journal and checklist I use for that are free here: semtrades.com/keep-executing
Good morning traders.
Not every swept high or low carries the same weight.
A local level belongs to a small rotation inside a bigger range. A structural level helps define the broader move.
Selling a local failed high in a bullish 4H range doesn't mean I found the top of the trend.
So I ask one question first: which structure does this level belong to?
Keep the size of the objective connected to the size of the idea.
Once I'm in, I manage the idea I planned.
Not the new story that suddenly feels convenient when the unrealised number moves.
I don't widen a stop to rescue a losing thesis.
I don't add just to improve my average while the idea is failing.
If price accepts beyond the area that should have rejected, that matters more than my wish for a green result.
LoL ๐
My 2 lines from previous post.
US futures opens with an exact ping pong!
Weekly Bitcoin close.
What am i watching this week ๐๐ป
1, 2, 3 SFP into meaningful previous high (white line), i would like a daily close today above 80,6k, idealy.
A daily close in the upcomming week above 81,4k (green lines) wil start to make me look for real upside.
If this acceptance back inside the range plays out, then i expext price will test both red resistance pockets and price will try to test acceptance beyond the 2026 yearly open.
If we dont manage to close above the green lines at 80,6k and 81,4k relatively soon.
Then i expect price to visit below 74,9k to test for a reaction on the lower liquidity there.
Definetly an exciting $BTC week ahead of us!

I don't want five charts giving me five different opinions.
I want each timeframe to answer a different question about the same market.
4H: the broader context. Trending, ranging, which highs and lows matter. This is the map.
1H: an optional bridge. Only when the move between the 4H boundaries is hard to read.
15m: the local structure. What would a reclaim, a failure or a first hold look like here?
3m: execution. Reading the reaction closely and defining a practical entry and invalidation.
Before I move down a timeframe, I want a reason.
Otherwise zooming in becomes a way to manufacture a setup the larger picture never supported.
The lower timeframe adds detail.
It doesn't erase the larger map.

Im gonna piss my pants if bitcoin:native closes the weekly above 80.6k lmao ๐
some time to go, but the start is there mate.
My journal is not a list of green and red numbers.
It's where the chart, the plan and the execution meet.
"Be more disciplined" is hard to review next week.
"Moved the stop without new structure" is something I can act on.
If I can't reconstruct the decision, I can't review it honestly.

Ill answer any question you have about this trade in the comments below!
Ask away! ๐
Friendly reminder ๐๐ป
The clock moved 1 hour backwards in Europe, US opens is at 14:30 amsterdam time instead of 15:30 for this whole week.
Then its back to 15:30 again, make it make sense ๐

Risk starts with being wrong.
I don't pick an attractive size and squeeze a stop nearby to justify it. Invalidation comes from the idea first, then I calculate size. Leverage doesn't replace that math.
Entry from the reaction. Stop from invalidation. Target from structure.

The sweep is not the trade.
Price taking a high or low only shows me where it explored. What I care about is the reaction. Can it stay beyond the level, or does it fail and return inside?
The level tells me where. The reaction tells me if.
