Melania, just so you know we Memorial Day for that &Veteran's day too.
Today we celebrate the beginning of a country that rejected the Divine Right of Kings & embraced the seperation of Church and state while trying to set up a gov't with functional checks and balances of power.

Genesis Health Club's owner donated $42,000+ to Kansas (R) House & Senate candidates last year.
A special provision letting him dodge $2.5 million per year in property taxes was just put into a #ksleg school funding bill.
It'll hurt your community, but he'll get richer faster.

Merch is also a way for us to support other local businesses, like screen printers and designers.
Plus, it warms our heart to see pictures of people wearing Raven merch out in the world, especially since we can't really see you in-person that much these days.
Yay, merch!

Fun fact about bookstore merch:
Since prices are printed on most books, and publisher wholesale prices tend to be fixed, we can't adjust our margins on books.
The same is not true of store merch, which means selling merch is really good for a bookstore's bottom line!

I’ve spent so long despising this man, it nvr occurred to me to feel sorry for him. One of the luckiest men the world has ever known. While so many are suffering, he has everything, and yet can’t think of a single thing to be thankful for today. Must be an agonizing existence.

Kyle Rittenhouse, accused of murder, has been released on $2M cash bail.
As a public defender, I represented teenagers unable to post $500-$5000 cash bail for things like theft or drug sale.
Money bail doesn’t make us safer. It just rewards the wealthy and well-connected.

Today I used the straps I keep to jam my classroom doors in case of an active shooter as a measuring tape to space out student seats to prevent the spread of a deadly viral pandemic. This is what it is to be an American teacher.

I would like to meet the little dude who broke my hand someday.
Peacefully.
Over coffee.
And ask him what he was thinking that day.
Did he think he was doing the right thing?
Did he think that beating me was in the best interests of this country?

I just want to remind everybody we found out today the economy fell in the 2nd Quarter by the largest margin IN US HISTORY (-33%), 150,000 Americans are dead from covid-19 bc of Trump's incompetence and he is trying to distract the country by threatening a power he does not have.
