Honoured to have been among Yazz Ahmed, Donovan Haffner, Knats, Heidi Vogel, Iain Ballamy, Olivia Cuthill, Jean Toussaint et al as recipients of the 2026 Parliamentary Jazz Awards, presented at World Heartbeat last night. Thanks to all.
This is Karl Bushby's incredible story (nowt to do with me, by the way – but great to interview him)

Being a total idiot I left my black laptop bag on the tube on Thursday at around 9.10pm. It was on the High Barnet branch of northern line. It’s got my laptop and two recorders in it. If anybody has handed it on/picked it up, it would be amazing to get back. Please share
WOOP WOOP! Found my bag. Everything in it, including about 10 years of taped interviews. (Yea, I know, stupid). Thanks for all your help. Also tip. At every @TfL station they can check what’s been left at every station (if you get the right person). Which I did. Thanks Kevin!
Thanks to everyone who shared my message about my lost bag / computer/ recorders on @TfL . No luck yet, but really appreciated
I talk to the Rooneys about marriage, typecasting, the media, Wagatha Christie, Auschwitz, learning from history and how Wayne dealt with the heat of Fergie's hairdryer

I asked Bonnie Greer to do a voice over for an ad once and, curious, she agreed. I knew her from TV and I was infatuated with her intellect and her dulcet drawl which she applied to my 10 second Panadol spot with alacrity. She was fascinated throughout and utterly charming. RIP.
Few have fought as epic battles in the Labour party as Margaret Hodge. She tells me about taking on the BNP, antisemitism, dodgy tech giants – and why she sees herself as a battleaxe

Music to my ears - albeit 20yrs after Corston and 10 yrs after the closure of Holloway. But any steps forward will need to be taken away from HMPPS which remains intellectually bankrupt and operationally incompetent. theguardian.com/society/2026…
I meet the amazing Mr T, who's promoting the new Netflix doc about him (Well, maybe promoting isn't quite the right word)

I found the way Mary Austin talked to me about Freddie Mercury and his impact on her life incredibly moving – and surprising.

Ending the historic injustice of IPPs has been announced by the Prime Minister.
A huge moment for IPP families and campaigners. Without all their hard work and determination, we would not be in this position today.

I can't think of anyone as wonderful in so many ways as Dolly – singer, songwriter, actor, raconteur, entrepreneur, philanthropist, educator, groundbreaker extraordinaire.
And she went through life without a stain.
Who does that? And who is EVERYONE'S hero?
Love you Dolly
