The trend of murder, horror, crime, ultra-violent, and serial murderer-focused films and series needs to back down. These types of films have always been part of the offerings. For too long now, though, they've been the majority. It's depressing as hell.
We need a balance of releases again.

If we capped wealth at $999,999,999 we could invest almost $5.9 trillion into improving our country.
And if you’re upset at transferring wealth down, why are you ok with how we pass laws to transfer wealth up— from the working class to billionaires?
Billionaires shouldn’t exist

Leonard Peltier: “But I’m free. They didn’t break me.”
After nearly 50 years behind bars, Indigenous political prisoner Leonard Peltier returned home today. Indigenous activists from @ndncollective and residents of Belcourt, North Dakota, gathered to celebrate his freedom after the decades of injustice he endured.
Got super encouraged this morning in my History of Motion Pictures class (10th graders). I asked them if movies are still culturally relevant today, and they all were very adamant that absolutely, yes they are. 😊 🎥 🍿 (life has been tough on us LA / movie industry folks lately)

🧵 If you’re applauding the abolishment of the Department of Education, you need to do a little research. You have ZERO clue what the DOE actually does.
Here’s a reality check on what the Department of Education actually does:

I just read this on Facebook:
Someone asked "Why do many British people not like Donald Trump?"
Nate White, an articulate and witty writer from England, wrote this magnificent response:

Showed this to a cinema class years ago. After the screening, 100% of students felt Leonard was wrongly convicted (young people en masse are never wrong 😉). Thank you all the grassroots Indigenous movements around the world. Leonard is free! Finally some justice. 🙏 @JoeBiden

Here is state Rep. Ruth Anna Buffalo (D-ND) meeting Biden today.
She asked him one question:
"I asked him to please free Leonard Peltier. He’s a political prisoner and from North Dakota, member of the turtle Mtn band of Chippewa."

Imagine if @TheYoungTurks bought @MSNBC. We'd need financing to do it, but imagine if we turned it into a populist channel! It would get far better ratings and could actually help the national conversation. It would be the ultimate sign that online media has won.

Dems have spent the past 8 years destroying the one movement that could have saved them. Bernie's class first populism won over exactly the type of voters (Latinos, working class, bros, Joe Rogan!) that Dems now repel. dropsitenews.com/p/bernie-wo…

Israel is currently starving nearly a million people in Gaza. Actively starving them to death. What kind of monsters do this? Is this what the dream of Israel was supposed to be? If your heart isn't broken by what Israel is doing, I'm not sure you have one left.

The Bloody Ground/War Against Native America was more than direct killing (i.e., guns).
It involved multiple, intersecting forms of violence, including dispossession, resource destruction, removals, rape, theft of women and children.

Watching the “decolonial”/DEI academia twist itself into knots, making every excuse possible not to condemn the most straightforward crime to condemn while moralizing against its victims, shows precisely how professional “thought leaders” lead us into the dark abyss of history.
