By 2032, we’ll have reduced the tax system to an endless system of service for fee models designed by AI billionaires because essentially the argument is now no one should really have to pay for anything. Want fire protection - download the Apple’s new Inferno+, only use the public park here and there - that’s fine pay when you want with GiveMeGreen, because society should only be there when you want it.
“I’m old. I’ve paid my home off,” said Ray Warner, a 72-year-old Akron resident. “Why would I pay property tax?” Across the country, homeowners are asking the same question and revolting against property taxes at a scale not seen in a half century. politico.com/news/magazine/2…

The DSA got a once in a lifetime opportunity: an extremely popular, charismatic socialist running New York City. Instead of helping Zohran govern, they're posting ridiculous demands in social media infographics. Who could've seen this coming.
Replying to @DemSocialists
We demand that Mayor Zohran Mamdani fire NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch and use every power available to him to drive ICE out of New York City. We further demand the mayor abolish the NYPD’s Strategic Response Group (SRG) and Community Response Team (CRT).

Honestly, what are people even talking about? Philly has been and will continue to be a premier American city. There is no Detroit-like turn around needed.
Philly is really one of those cities to look out for in the next few decades. Great architecture, public transit, quite a few colleges, proximity to big cities (NYC/DC). It's the perfect recipe for growth. If Detroit can turn around, Philly is an even better candidate.

The Hunter Biden memecoin arc feels inevitable. Once again, no matter if you find him charming, I am asking you to remember that elevating scumbags and losers to positions of prominence is always a bad idea. And Hunter is a scumbag who always traded on his family name for cash.

Congratulations to Rep-Elect Brandon Dukes on flipping PA HD-12. This is a seat that Republicans most recently won by over 30 points! Thank you to our volunteers who made 25k calls to get Democrats out to vote. We are excited to flip more seats with the @PAHDCC this November.

I feel like something that hasn't been really talked about in Wisconsin is that a moderate Democratic governor winning easily + state legislature flip is definitely a more left leaning outcome than a DSA candidate narrowly winning + not flipping the legislature.

For the people who don't track these things closely, when JD Vance says he's “postliberal” in this context it doesn't mean “post-Democrat,” it means “post-Constitution.”
Here's the video of @JDVance identifying himself as part of "the postliberal right" while speaking at an @ISI event for his friend @PatrickDeneen's book "Regime Change: Toward a Postliberal Future" - in case anyone was looking for it:

This ad -- with a 77-year-old Warren, an 84-year-old Bernie, and an 80-year-old Markey -- makes it clear that Democrats' gerontocracy issue is as prevalent with progressives as it is in establishment corners.
Ed Markey, facing a primary challenge from Seth Moulton, puts his endorsers front and center in his first TV ad: Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Ayanna Pressley https://xitter.cf/t.co/FpecT2gUna #MASEN

Elissa Slotkin won a senate race in Michigan [checks notes] two years ago.
Emerging take on Abdul Twitter (though not from Abdul himself) is that if Stevens beats him, progressives could stay home and let Rogers win. Abdul's put this much more diplomatically - that there are a lot of guys named Abdul in Michigan who didn't vote D in 2024 but would probably vote for the non-AIPAC candidate who happens to be a Muslim guy. xitter.cf/bhaviklathia/status/20…

Obviously not the main point here, but I was raised in a staffer/operative culture where your first instinct was to keep your name out of any story about the principal—and to never BE the story. I really hope we can find our way back to that. Better for everyone involved.
CNN: Morris Katz, a top campaign strategist for Platner, is set to meet with the embattled candidate in Maine on Wednesday. Katz, who also is a key adviser to New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, has told associates he does not believe Platner can remain in the race, given the allegations against him. “This could – and should – end today,” a person close to the campaign told CNN. “We’ll see if it does.” #MaineSenate
