Brief commentary on the "bluenami" in America
Woke retards are insufferable, high-nose entitled weirdos full of rage and believing they are the pinnacle of ethics standards. After some time, they caused contempt enough to motivate people voting for Trump and his entourage.
Although there are woke politicians among the Dems, most of the older ones are not woke. They are not prone to openly disregard wokeness, though.
After Trump was elected, retard rightoids as insufferable and entitled as the "classic" woke made too much noise, and sometimes they also believe they're the pinnacle of ethical and civilizational standars, while being merely retards full of anger and ressentment.
Many GOP politicians behave not like that, although sometimes Trump trumps this behavior. The (probable) majority of GOP politicians are not prone to openly disregard this "woke right" fringe, as we have seen about the idiocy regarding Indians, etc.
It seems Americans in general got tired of the "woke right" much faster than the classic woke left.
Although there is contempt towards this "woke right", it seems the economic factors were the most important ones disfavouring current GOP policies.

Trump got his comeuppance. Earned it.
Pity that Putin, Xi, Kim and Khamenei don't get to face their electorates fairly.
Sim.

The Woke Right that calls itself the New Right deliberately alienated everyone in the 2024 Trump coalition who isn't a young hardline white Christian male with questionable theology and then demanded people vote for their guys including some real weirdos. The result you can see.

I was 11 years old when I first went to a proprietary "airport", where there were small two-seated "puddle jumper" planes. I thought about climbing on one of them by the wing, but when I tried to climb the wing, the entire airplane tilted and for a moment I thought I'd broken it.
Airplanes are light and fragile. The larger ones do indeed weight tons, but they're very light weighted for an object that big, and they're almost thin layered hollow metal tubes that move around near the speed of sound.
Yeah... Reich's proposal is very, very interesting, although quite complicated. The world doesn't seem to be that simple, isn't it?
I hope one day we find proper samples of "pop A" and "pop B", it would be awesome!

<<Should the spoils go to the companies that develop the tech, the countries that fund the missions?>>
Yes!
Otherwise, why bother to develop tech and fund missions, all under high risks and hardships, if one could simply wait another one to do that and get a share, for free?
And in this situation, any rational player would avoid huge risks, costs and hardships waiting another player to take the said risks, costs and hardships: therefore no one would develop such tech and fund such missions.
I don't know details of what happened, as I guess no one currently know. These pilots were not dumb, they probably knew it is not a good idea to go through a massive Cumulonimbus cell, daring to pass through strong updrafts and supercooled water.
I don't know why they just didn't wait until weather get better, or why they simply didn't get around the storms system.
It seems a case in which a small, slender and agile jet got caught in a massive thunderstorm, without a happy ending.
Viewer discretion advised. This is a 3 minute real time replay of the Florida Learjet 60 crash, with the uncut ATC audio.
It pulls together public ADS-B, weather radar, satellite, dashcam and drone video onto one timeline.
Here's what we know as of Nov 2 based on OSINT and today's NTSB briefing:
- Went from ~35,000 ft to impact in ~78 seconds
- Flew into a string of thunderstorms
- Crew reported ice and turbulence; asked to climb then issued a mayday
- All nine aboard are deceased, with one person injured on the ground
- Plane debris spread across half a mile and still being recovered
- NTSB says there is some evidence the jet broke up before impact
- Weather at altitude is a key focus of the investigation; but the official cause is still TBD
I make a lot of 4D reconstructions and this is the most visceral and gut wrenching thing I’ve heard in a long time. My heart goes out to the families of those on board. Important to note that the details so far point to severe weather at altitude rather than a missile or air defense system.

Nice try, but that's very, very far from reality. Even in the better schools people don't read Homer, Virgil (let alone in Latin), Dante or Padre Vieira.
With luck, maybe in a very good school they'd read some of Camões sonnets. With even more luck, a chapter of Lusíadas.
It's enough to just take a look on our PISA scores: our teens can barely read and undertand simple instructions in direc, plain Portuguese.
In Brazil it’s compulsory to know Lusíadas by heart by the age of 11. Also Homer, Virgil (in Latin) and Dante are still thought seriously in most schools. The average family has a copy of Padre Antonio Vieira Sermões, Euclides da Cunha Os Sertões and the complete works of Gil Vicente in the living room.

Elon Musk can be arrogant, impulsive, and spectacularly rude. But he has also helped make reusable rockets, electric cars, and satellite internet practical at scale.
Steve Jobs was famously demanding, cruel, and difficult to work with. Yet he helped bring personal computers and smartphones to mass markets.
Thomas Edison was combative and ruthlessly competitive. Yet his work on electric lighting, sound recording, and industrial research helped transform modern life.
Henry Ford was a notorious antisemite who promoted conspiracy theories through his publications. Yet his assembly lines brought automobiles within reach of ordinary Americans and helped defeat Hitler.
A society that has no room for difficult people may also have less room for extraordinary achievement.
