There is no perfect recipe for building a Web3 community, whether for small or large projects.
In a dynamic and rapidly evolving ecosystem, we builders must continuously innovate and remain engaged to stay ahead. Building a community isn’t just about leading from the top—it’s equally vital to be on the ground, immersed within the community. This approach provides a broader perspective and a deeper understanding of what is truly needed.
From my experience with various projects, here are key areas I always prioritize when building and nurturing communities:
Shared Experiences:
Create opportunities for members to connect through events, challenges, and activities that foster meaningful relationships.
Community Platform:
Establish a safe, inclusive space, such as Discord or Telegram, where members can engage, exchange ideas, and stay informed.
Shaping the Culture:
Define and uphold clear values. Lead by example to cultivate a positive environment that aligns with the community's goals and vision.
Be Present:
As community leaders, stay active and involved. Engage with members, address their concerns, and celebrate their successes to build trust and strengthen connections.
By focusing on these areas, we can create vibrant and thriving Web3 communities.
What are your thoughts? I’d love to hear your ideas and suggestions!

Sending to a name instead of a tz1/tz2 is the obvious one, subdomains are also a useful feature, but my favourite part is that lots of platforms recognize your .tez when you connect your wallet and show your name/profile right away.
What else do you use yours for? 👀
I’m curious: what are you actually using your Tezos domain for? 👀
Besides owning the name, what benefits do you get from it?
Are you using it for wallet addresses, profile information, subdomains, a decentralized website, or an IPFS-based art portfolio?
I’m trying to understand the real-world value of a .tez domain, especially for artists, and whether it’s worth the annual renewal fee.
Share your experience! ✨

Tuesday Tezday is a community call this week.
We're opening up the room to hear from you.
Working on something? Found an artist worth checking out? Been exploring a new project? Or just want to catch up with some familiar faces?
Come hang out, request the mic, and tell us what's going on in your corner of Tezos.
Tuesday, 8 PM UTC.

More Tezonians have been asking how to recover funds from SpicySwap LPs and MatterDeFi farms, so here are a few useful tools.
arrivederci: inspect remaining funds, farms and LPs, and recover positions directly from your wallet.

What do you do with art besides sell it?
Ryan Tanaka explains how @TeiaCommunity is trying to build around what people actually do with art: comment, talk about it, make curations, and build collections, rather than focusing only on sales.

Almost five years since the Teia community came together, and it's still open-source and run by the people who use it. If you mint on Teia, this is the list of contracts your work actually lives on. Worth a bookmark, and a thank-you to everyone who keeps it running.
teia.cafe/contracts
Here is the list of contracts that TEIA (@TeiaCommunity) uses as part of their open-source, community-owned platform. There's been a lot going on since the community came together 5 years ago!.
Part of minting your work on TEIA (teia.art or teia.cafe) is that once you're in the system, you get access to all of these features all at once, which are open to the public and every transaction is recorded as a immutable record on the blockchain itself. It also puts your work onto the open markets on Tezos, where it automatically distributes your work to places like objkt.com (@objktcom) and other independent projects that leverage the community's collective activities and work - all the way back to when the movement first started.
In the past, the complexity of setting up blockchain systems were a hurdle to doing it - the sheer amount of information stored made it hard to even wrap your head around. But with AI systems now, we have seen a revival of new projects pop up in the last few months - WTF game show (@WTF_gameshow), The Wall (@thewall_today), TezTowers (@TezTowers), TezCity (@tezcity), TezTree - not to mention the 21 art events that TEIA itself has put on all over the world through our DAO vote.
When used in the right way, blockchain systems can be a great thing - permissionless = freedom, transparency = security and trust. One of the few bright spots left on the internet, imo

ALT Text card 1 of 3 from teia.cafe: "TEIA's community-owned Tezos mainnet contracts, and where they're used." Lists the Minter, the OBJKT token contract (FA2), the Teia Community Marketplace and the copyright registry, each with its KT1 address and the teia.art, teia.cafe and objkt.com pages that use it.

Remember when exploring Tezos meant stumbling onto something you didn't expect?
This week, we open five doors into Tezos, TezCity launches Starfall in its new Arcade, and metals shows up across the London Underground.
Plus, Tezos After Dark wants your spookiest art before Monday's deadline.
It's all in this week's Baking Sheet:

I see many people using the tezos crp hashtag in shilling posts, obvioulsy mistaking it for an event hashtag please read the link first and if you have people you believe deserve to be nominated tag them we need to have reasons for it or for it to be obvious by their activity on their profiles so we nominated monthly through the tezos commons reward program tezoscommons.org/rewards/ we can either nominate people on the site or using the hashtag here

Quantum-proof wallets aren’t enough. What about blockchain consensus?
A blockchain can protect users’ keys and still face a cryptographic challenge at the consensus layer.
On @tezos, bakers participate in consensus using cryptographic mechanisms, including digital signatures.
If those signatures become vulnerable to future quantum attacks, the network must address them too.
But replacing them isn’t as simple as swapping one algorithm for another.
Engineers must balance 3 factors:
Security: Can the new signatures resist quantum attacks?
Performance: How much extra computation and bandwidth do they require?
Scalability: Can the network maintain efficient consensus as data and storage demands grow?
Post-quantum cryptography can introduce larger signatures and additional verification costs.
The challenge is to strengthen security without compromising the network’s ability to reach consensus efficiently.
For Tezos and other blockchains, which deserves priority: smaller post-quantum signatures or faster signature verification?

Like Tezos, TezCity keeps on evolving!
I gave a hint about TezCity Arcade during my conversation with @TezosCommons and @TezosGaming.
I’m thrilled to announce its first release:
