The Washington Post wrote 14 slanted editorials attacking @Janeese4DC during the Mayoral race.
They evaded their policy of not endorsing by flooding the zone with negative headlines for McDuffie's campaign to use in mailers.
Now, they claim she only won because she "moderated."
"The city’s likely next mayor could end up a very effective leader if she builds on this pivot and abandons her worst instincts," the Editorial Board writes. wapo.st/4xEERzm

ANC 7D09 commissioner Ashley Schapitl (@ashleyschapitl) was one of the people pushing lies about Mayor-elect JLG. If you live in Hill East and want representation that actually listens, remember that her seat is up in November.

NEW: Kenyan McDuffie called Janeese Lewis George this morning and conceded the mayoral race, per two sources familiar with the conversation. Barring any huge surprises in the vote counting Lewis George has won this primary.

LOL. He is the status quo. When Bowser says that if you like her, you'll love McDuffie, that's all you need to know.
I'm not running for Mayor to maintain the status quo. I'm running to rebuild broken systems, fight to lower costs for families, and ensure that every community has a seat at the table. #FightandDeliver

OCF's "order" is irresponsible and amounts to election interference by a government agency that is required to be neutral.
@kenyanmcduffie and his allies have imported Trumpian tactics into the DC Democratic primary, and we are confident voters will hold him accountable.

This is really stupid, and it’s not getting enough attention.
The Trump administration is pulling a working $368 million ocean monitoring system out of the water, equipment taxpayers already bought, built, and sank into the deep ocean.
And they are doing it right when the oceans are behaving in ways that alarm the scientists who study them.
Record-breaking temperatures.
A system of Atlantic currents that may be lurching toward collapse.
The response?
Yank out the instruments and walk away.
That is not budgeting. That is smashing the gauges while the engine is on fire and calling it efficiency.
For what? The Trump administration dressed it up as a “nimbler approach” and “smart lifecycle management,” which is fancy nonsense for “we shut it off and hoped nobody would ask why.” There is no return-on-investment analysis. They cannot show taxpayers save a dime, because the gear is already paid for and the science it produces protects real money and real lives.
The kicker: the same people killing the monitors want to mine the deep sea for minerals. So they are destroying the only tools that could measure what that mining does. That is not an accident.
That is the point. You cannot see the damage if you break the instruments first.

An interesting look at the delegate financing as we near the primary. Eagle-eyed readers also flagged for me that Pinto's dad recently gave $50k to a "New Leadership PAC" as have members of the Trone family. They have yet to report any spending on the race, but something to watch
The D.C. delegate race is the most expensive on record — and we haven't even made it to the June 16 primary 💸

As President, I would read 10 letters a day sent to me by ordinary Americans. At the Obama Presidential Center, we’ll have some of the letters I read — and responded to — every night. I still get emotional reading them, and it’s one of my favorite exhibits.
