Please ask questions and learn the facts. We are civilized people.
According to Article 59 of the Treaty of Lausanne, Greece is the only country that was ordered to pay reparations for "war crimes" committed in Western Anatolia between 1919 and 1922.
Furthermore, Venizelos stated that a "population exchange" was inevitable—given the war crimes committed by the Greek Army and volunteers in Western Anatolia—and that it would serve to somewhat mitigate this disgrace.
Through the population exchange, 1.2 million Greeks migrated from Türkiye, while 500,000 Turks migrated from Greece to Türkiye.

A Case Study Question for International Law Experts (Purely theoretical answers please)
Greece, as a non-archipelagic state, cannot enjoy the advantages associated with extended territorial waters and an exclusive economic zone (EEZ) under the legal regime applicable to archipelagic states. Accordingly, maritime delimitation between Turkey and Libya is possible because Crete is an island belonging to a non-archipelagic state.
However, theoretically, if Crete (along with the islands of Meis/Kastellorizo, Rhodes, and Karpathos, to make matters more complex) were to declare independence, they would immediately become entitled to claim territorial waters of up to 12 nautical miles and an EEZ on an equal legal footing with Turkey and Libya. Their status would shift from that of islands whose maritime entitlements may be limited by the continental shelves and competing maritime claims of neighboring mainland states to that of an independent state possessing its own maritime entitlements.
Consequently, their independence could potentially sever the maritime connection between Turkey and Libya and substantially expand the maritime zones attributable to these islands.
Now, suppose that, after a certain period of independence, this newly established Islands Republic were to reunite with Greece under a confederal arrangement, retaining its status as an equal constituent state.
Would the territorial waters and EEZ entitlements acquired during its independence remain intact if during independence they were fixed by court judgements or treaties, unaffected by the competing continental shelf claims of Turkey and Libya? In other words, could such a confederal arrangement preserve the maritime entitlements established during independence, or would reunification with Greece alter their legal status under international maritime law?

Wait, what?! Oh my God! 😱
Now Türkiye must be absolutely terrified!
The mighty Ursula von der Leyen might even threaten to kick Türkiye out of the European Union!
Oh, wait… 😂
We're not even in the EU, are we?
How terribly embarrassing!
Of course, we did want to join. We knocked on your door for decades. But apparently, we weren't quite European enough.
Never mind. We still thought we should be helpful.
Millions of refugees to accommodate? Certainly! Why trouble Europe's delicate social equilibrium when Türkiye can shoulder the burden with a little financial assistance and a great deal of European gratitude?
European defence needs military capabilities? Naturally! From Estonia to Spain, Turkish military capabilities have contributed to Europe's security. Membership, of course, is an entirely different matter. Let's not get carried away!
A Customs Union that works rather more comfortably for European industry than for Türkiye? But of course! We wouldn't dream of disturbing such a beautifully arranged relationship.
European companies and banks want access to the Turkish market? Be our guests! Our largest private bank is even under Spanish control. How much more welcoming could we possibly be?
And now, after all these years of hospitality, strategic cooperation and economic accommodation, we are apparently expected to ask Brussels for permission to exercise our sovereign rights in the Eastern Mediterranean?
Oh, Madam President, how wonderfully imperial of you!
And how exactly do you propose to stop us?
With a stern warning from Brussels? A disapproving finger? Perhaps a French fleet? Or shall we expect a British military expedition to teach NATO's second-largest army a lesson in obedience?
How fascinating!
The very military capabilities Europe relies upon are apparently supposed to tremble at the sound of a Brussels press statement.
A raised finger is not a fleet. A declaration of disapproval is not an instrument of coercion. And diplomatic indignation, however theatrically delivered, is no substitute for actual power.
But surely there has been a misunderstanding.
We offered partnership, not guardianship.
We offered cooperation, not submission.
And we certainly never offered Brussels a seat at the head of Türkiye's sovereign decision-making table.
Our sovereignty is not a privilege granted by Brussels, nor is its exercise subject to European approval.
There is, after all, a limit to modesty. Even Turkish modesty.
Perhaps it is time Europe learned the difference between partnership and permission, between diplomatic rhetoric and geopolitical reality.
And Madam President, do forgive us if we fail to tremble.
You might wish to get used to it, afterall ...
😎
We deeply regret the ratification today by the Libyan Parliament of the so-called Libyan-Türkiye Memorandum of Understanding on the delimitation of maritime jurisdictions in the Mediterranean Sea.
We recall that the EU’s position on this matter was clearly stated by the European Council in 2019 and remains unchanged.
This agreement infringes upon the sovereign rights of third states, it does not comply with the Law of the Sea, and is null and void.
We reaffirm our solidarity with Greece and Cyprus.
We reiterate the EU's well known position against any outside interference in Libya.

çünkü 100 yıl boyunca anti Turkist dava "Türkler barbar, istilacı ve soykırımcıdır, bu yüzden milletinizden utanmalısınız" anlayışı üzerinden ilerledi ancak Almanların aksine Türklere bunu yediremediler, kimse tarihinden utanmadı. burdan vuramayınca taktik değiştirdiler ve anti Turkist dava "aslında Türk değilsiniz, Türk tarihi yalan, tarihte Türklere atfedilen her şey aslında Türklerle alakasız" modeline geçti, Çinden İspanyaya tüm dünyanın Türk genetiğine takma sebebi bu. mal değilseniz "ne önemi var genetik önemli değil" diye dolanmaz gerçekleri konuşursunuz, Türk kimliğinin güncel en büyük düşmanı budur

German AfD MP Maximilian Krah to Clash Report:
The mistake was that in 2004, we had EU enlargement. This was important for Germany.
And then Greece blackmailed us and said: “We will only agree to EU enlargement in southeastern Europe if you agree to Cyprus.”
Again, German diplomacy is unfortunately weak diplomacy.
Instead of going into a fight, they allowed Greece to blackmail us.
So now we have Cyprus in the EU with an unresolved Cyprus question.
