What an ideal return to Champions League football for Manchester United!
M. Carrick's side is putting on a clinical show at Old Trafford, holding a 3-0 lead over Azerbaijan's Sabah FK at half-time in their opening match of the 26/27 UCL league phase.
Stay tuned for the 2nd half

Writing the startup wind-down email feels like the end of the road. But in African tech, shutting down doesn't always have to mean a $0 liquidation.
Here is how companies like Chimoney and Konga turned potential closures into strategic acquisitions 🧵👇

I keep getting, “Amaka, why not move to Lagos? There are more opportunities there.”
I hear you guys, but abeg… I’ve been to Lagos. And you see this my PH? I love it here. 😂
Because:
I get to choose the kind of bus I want to board. If I enter your bus and the seat isn’t good, I can tell the driver to stop, come down and look for another bus. 😂
Bus fares are constant whether rain falls or not. If you increase your fare because of rain, I have good citizens that will happily tell you to go while cursing you under the rain, waiting for the next bus to come.
Nobody is rushing to enter the bus, and even if they want to increase the fare it doesn’t pass 100 naira😭😂 so budgeting for transport for the month is actually possible.
Nobody is rushing to anywhere. I can casually cross the road when is clear because the cars aren’t speeding to hell. 😂
I can stop a bus, look inside first. If the faces and seats aren’t friendly, I’ll simply tell the driver, “Oga, go.” 😭
Someone can stop two poles before my stop and I’ll still tell the driver to stop me at my own stop. And the driver will do it without complaining.
I fit still dey inside my street, dey walk out slowly while the bus driver dey wait for me, shouting, “Mile 3! Mile 3!” 😂😂
I stayed less than a year in Lagos and came back with ulcer.
No be me una go kill abeg. 😭
I know Lagos has more opportunities, and I’m not saying I’ll never go back. But for now?
PH is heaven to me.
I want to live long. 😂😂

Looking across this week’s tech headlines in Africa, one message stands out: raw volume without sustainable structure will eventually catch up with you.
From startup wind-downs in Lagos to major legal resets in Nairobi, the market is ruthlessly filtering out unsustainable models.

This so much shows how people have no sense of propriety and opinion becomes fluid when money and a stupendous amount of it are involved. Material success creates this halo effect where people infer wisdom or moral approval from financial outcomes.
The values you hold and second-order effect of your actions mean nothing to Nigerians provided you can demonstrate a lavish lifestyle. And what’s crazy is that we call it grace.
Our idea of grace is whoever ends up having money or fame or both and everything questionable be overlooked. Nigerians associating Grace with money is very problematic for me because I know the church is complicit.
