This is a perpetually moronic take. Tesla had no product before Elon Musk, and their startup would likely have never left the ground without his help. NASA engineers had decades to invent reusable rockets on their own, but they did not. And here this guy is, complaining about Elon on his supposedly ruined site. The man is changing the world on an Edison-like scale, yet some people are too blinded by politics to see what's happening right before your eyes. They should go take a ride in a Cybercab and simmer down.
Elon Musk didn’t create Tesla. He bought it. He didn’t create X. He bought Twitter and ruined it. He didn’t invent the rockets, propulsion systems or telemetry of SpaceX. He used NASA tech and poached their engineers. He’s a venture capitalist and a college dropout. That’s it.

Sometimes the future is easy to predict.
This is literally true. Even like a year or two ago, a lot of progressive people were just calling Starlink sky pollution with no redeeming value.

James Talarico, in his own words: 'Our trans community needs abortion care too.' That's not where Texas is. Early voting ends Friday. Vote Republican all the way down the ballot.

The entitlement of the illegals they interviewed is insane. The cop goes out of his way to be nice to them, let families hug goodbye and stuff when it comes to that, and they spit on him for it. They view the country they stole as their property, and him as the illigitimate one.
Extremely funny article. Two cops essentially turned their town into a no go zone for illegals because these people apparently cant stop breaking minor traffic laws. 10% of your town being illegals is horrifying. These people have to go

I love randos scolding Elon Musk with business advice.
How about something practical and important that the masses would respond to in a positive way? It should be so easy to sell robots to people if you take it seriously.

I like that the democrats and their voters’ closing arguments heading into the midterms is “yeah so we’re jailing and/or putting a bullet in your head when we retake power”. So that’s neat. Great stuff.

10 years ago they mocked us for claiming Obama was a socialist. Now they are proudly proclaiming their allegiance to Communism. All they ever do is lie.
UNDERCOVER: GAVIN NEWSOM SAYS THE DSA IS "GOING TO BE DOMINANT" AND "MAINSTREAM" IN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY! "The DSA, the energy and the desire and demand for bold change, not incremental change, is very much going to be dominant. I mean, that's going to be a mainstream Democratic movement. Absolutely. No question about that." That's California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a likely 2028 presidential candidate, speaking to an undercover journalist while campaigning in New Hampshire. Asked by a "younger voter" who said "we don't want Kamala Harris, we want more democratic socialist policies": "No one is arguing to manage the status quo and fail more efficiently." "You can't play in the margins anymore. The system's broken. It's completely unbalanced, and we can't manage the decline. We have to completely reimagine."

Grocery stores make about $1 in profit for every $30 of goods sold. So if this person walked out carrying about $75 in groceries, that instantly erases the profit from $2250 in sales. Something to consider as you complain about grocery prices.
At Loblaws Sunday in Ottawa a woman carrying a full PC green box of groceries briskly walked out of the store without paying. Cashier said it was the *17th* of these shoplifting incidents that had happened Sunday at this store.

This is severe mental illness, folks. Talarico hasn’t been a teacher in over 13 years. Not everything is about you!
About 10 years ago, I met a teacher named Jimmy Talarico at a @texasyds after party. Today, I selected @jamestalarico on my ballot for US Senate.

Medicare For All is a delusional proposal. Universal coverage always ends the same way: societies can't afford it, systems become overburdened, wait times explode. Over 10 years, waits for elective care in England have ~doubled. Wait time in Canada for an MRI is up 42% between 2019 and today. Australia, Brazil, Mexico, it's all the same. How many examples do you need before you start acknowledging facts are facts? In every case a failing public system is paired with a burgeoning cash-pay private healthcare system used by the wealthy to avoid waits. This would I'm sure do wonders for class conflict and tensions over wealth inequality in the United States. It would be one thing to consider M4A if we were running a fiscal surplus. But with a $2T deficit, $40T in debt, and shaky 10Y treasury yields you have to be out of your mind. Young adults especially should be up in arms. It's tempting to see universal healthcare as a solution to the cost of living crisis we face. But just as rent control does not expand the supply of housing, universal healthcare is a golden calf that does nothing but double mortgage your future. We will live in poverty paying the debts of our parents. The way to get what you want is to make more of it. Have you considered that supply side reforms and embracing technology, particularly AI, might be the right answer?
16 month wait for a CT scan in the UK. A $400 test… Does it still count as “free” if you have to wait over a year for the test?

I think Singal is representative of a lot of liberals in that he sort of concedes the necessity of immigration law in the abstract, but finds the actual act of deportation to be shocking and cruel unless it occurs under impossible to satisfy circumstances. Immigration advocates make these circumstances impossible, in the same way advocates have made a clean death penalty impossible so what remains to be incompetently administered provokes public sympathy.
Replying to @MrAndyNgo
so your understanding of how this works is if the government thinks you defrauded the US and you don't have legal status here, you should be deported to a country you have no connection to and just dropped there with no money?

It’s simply not true that we can’t collect unpaid rent from people who “can’t pay.” We need to learn from the success of child support collections and apply those lessons here. There should be no cap on wage garnishing. Public benefits should be subject to garnishing. Vehicles and personal property should be subject to seizures and liens. Inheritances, windfalls, and all sources of income should be subject to garnishing, with no statutory cap. We are not reaching hard enough. We are leaving too much of their money untouchable. No one has “no money.” They are supporting themselves somehow!
Every year, thousands of DC residents lose their homes over unpaid rent. Most owe less than $5,000. Going to court is stressful for tenants, expensive for landlords, and slows down the system. We need a better way to resolve rent issues. 🧵⬇️

How about people should meet their contractual obligations, instead of the government (taxpayers) bailing them out?
Replying to @CMRobertWhiteDC
Tenants may be eligible for help to clear the debt. In these cases, the District will pay up to 1/3 of the back rent only if the landlord agrees to forgive at least 1/3 of it too. The tenant then covers the rest. Tenants could also get repairs for their unit or agree to move out.
