Revolut recently banned using GrapheneOS without any justification. They're falsely claiming to do be doing it for security reasons. In reality, they're enforcing licensing Google Play. Revolut doesn't enforce security standards. It runs on Android 9 with no patches since 2018.

As an EU-based company, we're subject to the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), which imposes strict compliance requirements on financial institutions handling crypto assets. This is compounded by the incoming Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (AMLR), which will formally ban privacy coins like Monero from EU-regulated platforms from July 2027. Banks are already de-risking ahead of that deadline, and our banking partner is no longer willing to support our account while we continue accepting Monero directly. Alternative banks have declined to work with us for the same reason.
Monero is still available through our resellers, so it hasn't been removed as a payment option, just moved off our direct platform.

On Thursday, the European Parliament votes on Chat Control 1 (the voluntary scanning, not the mandatory scanning, called Chat Control 2). Again.
The Parliament has already voted against Chat Control 1. Two times. But the Council of Ministers and the Parliament President refuse to accept it.
Now, the Council has demanded an urgent procedure. This is a procedure that is meant to be used for new legislative proposals, not proposals that the Parliament has already rejected. An urgent procedure requires an absolute majority to be rejected (361 out of the Parliament's 720 members). This will be difficult to reach, since those who abstain from voting are counted as a yes-vote in an urgent procedure. By scheduling the vote during the summer, they are making it even harder to reach those 361 no-votes. This is downright dirty tactic by the Council and the President of the European Parliament.

AMD has quietly removed the security feature called Transparent Secure Memory Encryption (TSME) from consumer Ryzen processors via newer BIOS firmware updates.
This encrypts data stored in RAM, making it harder for someone with physical access to steal information
The hardware remains capable of supporting the feature, which is still available on Ryzen Pro and EPYC processors. Users discovered the change only after updating their BIOS and noticing that memory encryption was no longer available.
Many users feel AMD should have clearly explained the change, especially since some systems lost the feature after firmware updates.
AMD has not provided a public explanation for removing memory encryption from consumer Ryzen CPUs.
