Boom
The man on the right persecuted women relentlessly for trying to protect themselves from male predators. The man on the left supported him.

I may have accidentally met Russell Brand once or seventeen times where I inadvertently referred to Brand as a political colossus & mankind's preeminent thinker as he guest edited my magazine, but this sycophantic praise was my way of expressing how much I utterly detested him .

Would The Observer do a sympathetic front page on a far right group that had broken the spine of a female police officer and targeted Jewish businesses? Shameful.

Owen Jones is exactly the type of person who believes it was correct to turn a blind eye to rape gangs, and that the mass gang rape, rape, torture, and murder committed by Hamas on October 7th wasn't a big deal, if one could even admit it happened at all. According to Owen Jones's logic, Hamas were the real victims of October 7th, regardless of their actions. He's really worked hard to minimize, justify, rationalize, & dismiss the atrocities of October 7th. He's a man who clearly has little to no empathy or concern for women who are victimized, regardless of how savagely. I can imagine him swooning over Brand's Bluebeard cosplay. Brand's dyed hair and fake tan probably helped, and don't even get me started on his Mockney accent. Everything about him is fake. In the woke hierarchy of victimhood, race trumps sex. Women hardly merit consideration. Woke people don't care about women, their rhetoric is empty lip service. When push comes to shove, as we saw with the grooming gangs, they're happy to sacrifice vulnerable girls, to literally offer them up as sexual playthings for the gratification of predatory men. Neither side of the political aisle cares about women.

You can see why he's an apologist for the rape gangs, from the Naz Shah 'shut up for the sake of the cause' school of leftism. teapawt.net/damekatydenise_/status…
Would love to know how Owen Jones is gonna explain this one away. Logging off now, FUMING. 😤 #RussellBrand 🏳️‍⚧️

Talcum X admitting, without a qualm, that he overlooked RB being a sexual predator & vile misogynist, 4 the 'greater good' of leftist causes is different, IMO, than one day discovering it & still liking him. Women didn't matter, blokish socialism did. Same old. teapawt.net/owenjonesjourno/status…
I've met Russell Brand twice (I think): Once when I hosted a Guardian Live event about his book in 2014. Another time I interviewed him for The Big Issue when I was guest editing in 2015. He also gave my publishers an endorsement for my book The Establishment, which I was mortified about at the time mostly because I thought it was so OTT it would obviously invite ridicule (which it did). At the time I saw him as a crude means to reach disillusioned younger people with left-wing politics - the sort of people who wouldn't be reached by conventional left-wing journalists and politicians. As a result I was willing to overlook, or just not look into, his history of problematic behaviour / statements, including sexism. I convinced myself that he was on some sort of journey and that was a good thing. That was an obvious misjudgement. I did think he was a bit of a chancer / had a messianic complex, but overlooked that too as a necessary evil in reaching disengaged people. But that was clearly his main driving force and he clearly ended up concluding that right-wing politics was a better vehicle to satisfy it. It's an important lesson in not stupidly engaging clearly problematic figures, however charismatic or however much mass appeal they have, in the service of a cause. What I would say is that right now we should be centring the survivors of a rapist and sexual predator. I personally don't really think those trying to point score have his survivors' interests at heart. I would also argue that those with the big questions to answer are the right-wing figures who continue to stand by him and spread conspiratorial nonsense in his defence. Finally, let's hope that other possible survivors of Russell Brand feel able to come forward.

“the individual who deleted the files could not be identified by any investigation” -This has got to be the biggest scandal heard from the same Trust that breached medical notes of our children from Nottingham attacks. - We found data breaches and now systematic and planned data deletion. This is totally scandalous. I have long said the Sec of State for Health needs a total management replacement at this hospital immediately…….. Sec of State you are sleeping on the job…..get on with it. This Trust has got to be the most scandal ridden in the country. “Get Nottingham right, get the country right” @YvetteCooperMP @DHSCgovuk @KemiBadenoch @DamianHinds bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cmly…

So bored of these people retconning their stances on this. This conviction will see him in jail, fine. But he was always, at best, an obnoxious crank and charlatan. The people who entertained him should have been shamed then every bit as much as now.

This is correct, and I encourage those of you he hasn't blocked to do so. The video in question is a compilation of numerous screamy speeches by Mehdi, given to large groups of Muslim men, in which he refers to every single Jew, Christian, Hindu and Sikh on earth as 'cattle', rages against gays, and states that non-Muslim unbelievers have 'diseased minds', among other things. I'll link to it in the second tweet here.

And the winner by Knockout is...
If this silly woman was a trained journalist she would understand that being one of more than 50 witnesses in a huge privacy case is not being ‘on trial for phone-hacking’. And if she was a trained journalist she would know that the privacy case lost on every count, and that the judge singled me out for being a ‘careful and impressive witness’. And if she was a trained journalist she would know that talking to people’s families when they do something controversial is actually real journalism, not the activist shite she pumps out. And perhaps if she was a trained journalist she wouldn’t be living at home with her mummy and daddy at the age of 35. I’m the second Jewish journalist she’s attacked today as X is reminded that she shamefully celebrated on October 7 - so eager is this desperate attention seeker to gain the approval of the Jew haters who will always despise her.

Today’s Guardian finds it "astonishing" that Russell Brand, convicted of one count of rape and three sexual assaults yesterday, was “embraced as a serious social commentator” when he returned to Britain in 2013. Embraced by whom, sorry? The paper gives its own role in promoting brand Brand one single line, noting he had already written columns for it. Yesterday’s big Guardian piece on TV insiders said "Brand’s case has led to difficult questions for the BBC, Channel 4 and the production companies that worked with him." Hilarious... On an unrelated note Russell Brand's 137 written contributions to the Guardian are still online - 17 of which are after 2013 and which concluded in February 2015. Long after the Andrew Sachs voicemails, the paper ran his opinion on Thatcher the day after she died, ran a GQ awards column over a large chunk of the front page in September 2013, and ran his column blaming Philip Seymour Hoffman’s death on “extremely stupid drug laws.” Not to mention the fawning praise from Owen Jones and the entire Labour establishment, including the now-Prime Minister... Today’s piece also sniffs that critics lavished praise on his memoir, quoting its tale of Brand trailing a classmate 200 miles to Wigan as an early warning sign. That particular book was serialised in the Guardian. In October 2014 the paper put on a ticketed Guardian Live event, with Owen Jones interviewing Brand. It was broadcast live from the Emmanuel Centre. That day Jones penned a piece in the Guardian attacking the “all-too-smug, seen-it-all-before snottiness” aimed at Brand. Two months later George Monbiot named him a hero of 2014, calling him “the best thing that has happened to the left in years”. Alan Rusbridger, the Guardian's editor from 1995 to 2015, claimed in Prospect Magazine in 2023: "I only met him once, when he was writing a popular football column for the Guardian, along with the occasional commentary piece." Funny, seeing as the football column was pre-2010 and there is a photo of them snugly on the sofa together at the Guardian’s morning conference in August 2013...
