Well, Pashinyan played the same game at the beginning.
The first worrying sign: the student list leaders’ media outlet of choice is RT, and their main foreign policy message is not a commitment to continuing EU integration, but a promise not to impose sanctions on Russia.
And this guy, Jovo Bakic, is considered to be the leader of the leftist part of the movement.
A message to Western pundits: Yes, ousting Vucic is a good thing for democracy, but curb your enthusiasm.

Wow. What a turnout. In a town of 10,000, in a county Trump won by almost 30 points, nearly 1,000 came out in support of Abdul El-Sayed.
Alpena, MI, thanks very much.

You cannot preach partnership abroad while neglecting the relationships, rights, and obligations that must be honoured at home.
One of the most disrespectful behaviours toward a people is disregarding their cultural protocols. I’m sure the Prime Minister‘s office and the Privy Council Office briefs him when he meets with other nations about the proper cultural protocols to follow during negotiations. That was certainly apparent during his recent visit to Türkiye, where he stated the importance of “Canada’s recognition of the importance of cultural heritage as a bridge between peoples and nations.”
It’s clear that he doesn’t see First Nations as distinct nations. How can you negotiate nation-to-nation with a Prime Minister who does not even respect us as nations?
I would like to remind the Prime Minister that Indigenous peoples are not a stakeholder group to be managed for public relations purposes. We are Indigenous peoples, rights holders, and Treaty partners with inherent, constitutionally protected, and internationally recognized rights. Our Nations hold jurisdiction, title, and authority over our lands, waters, territories, and resources.
This requires the Canadian government to honour the Treaties, uphold the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, respect free, prior, and informed consent, and uphold its constitutional obligations.
Prime Minister Carney, the question is simple: If reconciliation is a priority, why aren’t you showing up to meet with the Elders and Nations whose rights and Treaties your government is obligated to respect?
The answer is pretty clear to me, given your government’s attempts to push through Bills C-39 and C-37, which blatantly disrespect Indigenous rights, including Aboriginal title.
I’m ready to stand shoulder to shoulder with Indigenous peoples, workers, and individuals speaking up for our environment to say no to your blatant violations of our Constitution!

Nothing and no one should stand between New Yorkers and their right to vote — least of all the government.
Early voting is happening now through November 1. Election Day is November 3.
See you at the polls!

What a puppet government looks like.
The Venezuelan government issued a statement following Lula's electoral victory in Brazil. A bit unusual that it did not congratulate Lula himself, instead praising the Brazilian people for "massive and civic participation that led to" Lula's victory. It also reiterated a desire to continue cooperating under principles of sovereignty, self-determination, and solidarity

At Cornell I met a student adjacent to the lefty/music scene who was building an autonomous drone startup. Asked him about it and he assured me it was just for search and rescue/disaster response. Earlier this year he sold it to a defense firm. They always sell to defense.
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks.
By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time.
Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.

yeah uh I don't think "search and rescue" is what this is going to be used for

So this happened in Winter Park, FL. (Basically Orlando). Winter Park is full of a bunch of affluent yuppies that act all "progressive" but then don't really like black folks like that for real. Instead of the kid being punished, an apology should be made by the city of Orlando AND that kid given a scholarship and free tickets to the Orlando City Soccer team games.
China might already be heavily involved in agriculture projects in the region. I'm not sure who exactly I'd trust for data about that tbh.
China congratulated Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on his runoff election victory and reaffirmed its commitment to deepen bilateral cooperation. 🇨🇳🇧🇷
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun noted the official results released by Brazil's electoral court and said Beijing is ready to continue advancing the China-Brazil community with a shared future.
