Facial recognition tech misgenders transgender people. Can't imagine why that might be! eandt.theiet.org/2019/10/30/…
This seems mad. @4NCL, all you need is a rule saying that every team must include at least one woman or girl. Men are already overrepresented, we don't require additional inclusion measures.

I quite like this but I think it must be enormously difficult for people who don't already do cryptic crosswords.
Another NYT Connections controversy, and once again I must plead for the referee to intervene. @GeoffLindsey, is the L in "chalk" silent?
I (a Brit) find it hard to imagine how to pronounce the L, but there are many adamant that they do.
Well worth a watch, and probably worth sending it to older friends and relatives too. (And no, it's not really about money)
The men are descending upon Epsom tomorrow. They have every right to stage their rally, of course, but it's rather grim that they're pausing at the memorial to Emily Davison, of all people.
I think we might need the help of @GeoffLindsey with this one!
This video about a de-transitioned woman's journey is well worth five minutes of anyone's time.
An animation film of Claire’s experiences will be released at 8pm UK time. We’d appreciate any and all shares to make sure lots of people see her story

“They say trans women shouldn’t play in female teams. They say they’ll have an unfair advantage. But what is the actual solution?? Vote below.”
🗳️
Biological sex segregation — 5%
Let people choose teams — 14%
Ability-based categorisation — 62%
I don’t know — 19%
My response:
If some cis women don’t want trans women in their team, let them say that but don’t pretend it’s about fairness whilst mocking our transition, our bodies, or our rights.
We’re not begging for entry we’re fighting for equity, not just inclusion.
Trans people also have the right to say: “We don’t want to be in spaces where we’re degraded either.” Respect goes both ways. Misgender us, mock us, or dehumanize us and yes, we will fight back through policy, lawsuits, and public platforms.
📌 Ability-based categorization is fair.
📌 Sex-based segregation can coexist with trans-led leagues or mixed categories.
📌 We don’t need to erase anyone to validate everyone.
We’re not disrupting women’s sports we’re disrupting outdated frameworks.
We’re not erasing sex we’re demanding room for gender.
Time for the world to recognize that transgender people are not a “debate topic” we’re a demographic. With needs. With skill. With identity.
We’re not asking for space anymore.
We’re taking it.
And we look damn strong doing it. 🏳️⚧️

1) Thanks for replying
2) The first problem with your reply is that you did reject tests: you questioned the need for them in the case of Khelif (below)
3) Instead of giving some credibility to the sex tests carried out by the IBA in accredited labs, you chose to believe and repeat a conspiratorial conjecture that these were somehow fabricated.
4) You endlessly praised Khelif and Lin Yu ting. You described the Paris competition as an 'atrocity' and an 'ordeal' - which is accurate, but you meant that it was an atrocity for Khelif, not for the women he hit.
5) You denounced, frequently, venomously, and misogynistically, those like @jk_rowling who highlighted the real atrocity here. (You are continuing with these childish and demeaning attacks). Your schtick was to pose as a boxing insider, an expert, who was explaining to the stupid and 'hysterical' outsiders what was really going on. But you couldn't recognise or call out what was going on in front of your eyes.
6) Had you taken this seriously, you would be able to reach for words now, that you had uttered then. An expression of caution, a recognition of concern, a proposal for delay and reform. You can't produce such words, because you didn't utter them. You were a gung ho supporter of Khelif, not an impartial, critical commentator.
7) All the evidence now being produced like this
teapawt.net/ripx4nutmeg/status/181…
doesn't fully convey the way that you continuously shilled for the IOC. I listened to @BBCSport through the games: you pushed out propaganda and apologias endlessly, for Khelif, the IOC and the Algerian government.
8) You try to excuse this by pointing to the undoubted corruption in the IBA. But there is no reason to think that the tests themselves were corrupt, and the intellectual corruption of the IOC policy of 'passport sex' was plain to see. You said nothing about this.
9) At no time then or now have you paused to ask yourself 'What if I'm wrong?' Obviously, this is a difficult question, because the answer is: 'I watched men hitting women in the ring, and justified it, rather than condemning it. Instead, the people I condemned were those who tried to stop it.' That fact is difficult for you to confront.
10) That's a question for you to ask yourself. But I have one for you too:
Have you no shame?

If you are a transwoman using the same loo as me and another man gives you gip, I will help you.
(I don't have a large following but it would be nice if as many men as possible, who see this and agree, could repost it.)
These really are profoundly nonsensical people.
Unbefuckinbeliebable!
Read it & weep with laughter.
