π²π½ Los Choapas, Veracruz, Mexico 2024.
Trucking businessman Juan Antonio Bautista LΓ³pez survived 2 attempts on his life by the same sicaria in 1 day.
During the first attack, he reclined his truck seat to avoid the gunfire but was struck in the neck. Then drove himself to hospital. On the way, the same hitwoman attacked him, now wearing different clothes.
This time, he was armed, he defended himself with his legally owned firearm. Dude was lucky but how is the average citizen supposed to defend themselves when legally obtaining guns is so difficult in Mexico??
Heritage matters.
There's a nearly 4,000-year-old Egyptian tomb painting of 172 men dragging a giant statue across the desert on a wooden sled, and the most valuable guy in the whole picture is the one standing on the front pouring water on the sand.
He was worth about 86 of the other guys.
In 2014, a group of physicists at the University of Amsterdam got curious about him, built a little sled, and tested it. When you drag something heavy over dry sand, a pile builds up in front of it and you burn most of your effort bulldozing that pile. Add the right amount of water, somewhere around 2 to 5 percent, and the sand gets about twice as stiff, the pile never forms, and you need roughly half the pulling force. Which means about half the people.
Keep that guy in mind while you watch this clip. AI can now make a pretty convincing video of giants carrying pyramid blocks around like cafeteria trays while regular-sized people stand there watching, complete with fake film grain and a caption dating it to 2700 BC. The men who built the Great Pyramid stood around 5'5", and we know a surprising amount about how they pulled it off because one of them kept a diary.
His name was Merer. He ran a crew of about 40 boatmen, and his logbook is the oldest papyrus with writing on it anyone has ever found. It covers five months near the end of Khufu's reign, and it's mostly him writing down where his boats were. Load white limestone at the Tura quarries, float it to Giza in two days, sail back empty in one, do it again. Each boat carried around 30 of the 2.5-ton blocks that covered the outside of the pyramid, and his crew moved roughly 1,000 of them that season. He reported to Ankhhaf, Khufu's half-brother, who was basically the project manager. The papyri sat in a sealed cave on the Red Sea coast for 4,500 years until a French team found them in 2013.
Of course, boats need a river. The pyramids look like somebody plopped them down in the middle of the desert, and for a long time it was hard to explain why they were built there. In 2024, a team led by Eman Ghoneim used radar satellites to find a branch of the Nile about 40 miles long, buried under sand and farmland, running right past 31 pyramids, Giza included. A lot of the pyramid causeways end exactly where its riverbank used to be. A drought around 4,200 years ago filled it in, and the river that built the pyramids has been hiding under the desert ever since.
The workers left their own bodies behind too. They're buried in a cemetery right next to the king's pyramid, and archaeologists found broken arms set in wooden splints and an amputee who lived for years after the surgery. Their work gangs scribbled names on the walls like "Friends of Khufu."
Zahi Hawass, who ran the Giza plateau for years, called Merer's logbook the greatest discovery in Egypt this century, and if you actually read it, it's a guy keeping track of when his boats showed up.

The only industries I feel have some reasonable claim to the AI conversations are Arts and Creatives. As a continent we have a very solid foundation and culture in that sector that incorporation of AI isnβt a far fetched idea

Martin Eberhard co-founded Tesla in 2003, three years after selling his last company for $187 million. Elon Musk put in $6.5 million, became chairman, and in 2007 pushed him out.
Today he says he sold his Tesla stock βprobably too soon.β
In the video below, Martin shows where his name was supposed to go on his own car: βMarkβs and mine were not there.β
On July 1, 2003, he and Marc Tarpenning incorporated Tesla Motors.
In February 2004, Musk led a $7.5 million funding round. He put in $6.5 million himself and became chairman.
In 2007, the Musk-led board removed him as CEO. By yearβs end he was out.
The first Roadsters were a Founders Series. A plaque was supposed to carry his signature. When it arrived, he says, it had βall kinds of other peopleβs signatures.β
In June 2009, he sued Musk for libel, slander and breach of contract. They settled that September. Now five people, Musk included, may be called co-founders.
In November 2021, Musk posted that Eberhard was βby far the worst person Iβve ever worked with.β
Asked if he felt targeted: βItβs not that I feel... I was.β
On money: βIβm not a jillionaire or anything, but Iβm fine.β
The case for Musk: his $6.5 million kept Tesla alive, and he has run it since 2008.
The case for Eberhard: he and Tarpenning started Tesla before Musk wrote a check.
Who deserves to be called Teslaβs founder: the man with the idea, or the man with the money?

NIGERIANS, WE NEED YOUR HELP! π³π¬
INEC has restricted the amount of time each person can spend on its website, so we need as many people as possible to help with this exercise.
Hereβs what weβre doing:
Weβre counting the number of registered voters in each polling unit for 2027 and comparing it with the number of registered voters in that same polling unit in 2023.
INEC wonβt show us the full register, so we have to do this ourselves, one polling unit at a time.
Hereβs how you can help. It takes just 60 seconds!
STEP 1: Go to this link ‡οΈ
check.nigeriaelects.com
STEP 2: Copy the code generated where it says βYour Polling Unitβ. Itβs the code containing numbers and dashes.
STEP 3: Go to the INEC website and scroll down to βFind a Polling Unitβ.
Paste the code you copied into the PU Code box and click βFindβ.
STEP 4: The polling unit information will appear, including the number of registered voters.
Copy ONLY the number of registered voters (the whole number, without the dashes).
STEP 5: Return to the first website, paste the number into the space provided for registered voters and click Submit.
Thatβs all!
See the attached video for a visual guide.
60 seconds of your time can help us build a clearer picture of whatβs happening with our votersβ register.
Please participate and share this with other Nigerians. The more people who help, the more polling units we can cover.
Letβs get to work! π³π¬

X algo favors the gambling companies, Daveβs posts use up the gambling companiesβ ad budgets, Massieβs have no immediate economic impact because no large advertiser is putting ads tagged to his profile like they do to Daveβs.
X sees $100,000 ad for BetMgM, Polymarket etc and its targeted to gambling profiles, people who follow them. To get that $ it serves that content to people whether they want it or not.
The X algorithm is completely fucked up.
Thomas Massie gets 5.2 million views, 194,000 likes, 30,000 reposts, and 7,100 comments.
Meanwhile, Dave Portnoy, a jew who makes money getting young people hooked on gambling, gets 3 million views for some meaningless bullshit.
Massie gets 22 TIMES more likes, 117 TIMES (!!!) more reposts, and 24 TIMES more comments, but ONLY 1.7 TIMES as many views.
Apparently, X would rather push degeneracy and gambling culture onto young people than give genuine political dissent the reach its engagement deserves.
What a fucking joke.
