Progressive Pronatalism or Total Collapse In the Democratic landside election of the 2026 US midterms, the most remarkable fact is how far to the left young people are now. An astonishing 73% of young people age 18-29 voted Democrat, anchoring a progressive coalition that could be in power for many years to come. Young liberals have incredibly low fertility Meanwhile, young liberals are having very few children these days, with just half of the fertility of young conservatives. One of the features of the modern left is skepticism towards having a family. If 3/4 of Gen-Z is on the left now, as these midterms suggest, then the fertility of that generation will be incredibly low, absent a culture shift. With US birthrates already at all-time lows before Gen-Z enters peak childbearing, we could witness a true collapse of American fertility in the coming decade. That would be catastrophic since America until now has been the only large economy in the world with decent demographics. Pronatalism has to come from the left So far, it has been conservatives building a pronatal culture and trying to have more children. That lifted American fertility in the 2000s and 2010s. But that won't be enough now, with conservatives just a quarter of 18-29s. Without cultural forces from their side persuading young liberals to have more children - a progressive pronatalism - American decline is all but assured. Not just family benefits Many liberals happily advocate for things like paid childcare and enhanced parental leave to support families who need help. Those are fine, but they don't move the fertility needle enough. Without a culture that is positive about having children, most people will have very few. But there is a taboo about cultural pronatalism on the left. You aren't supposed to actually say that we want or need people to have more children, even though we desperately do. That taboo will have to end. No Abundance with Low Birthrates The left is ascendant now, and low birthrates will drive the GDP mechanically downward if not reversed. This has already happened in Japan, with three lost decades and counting. Many on the left dream of abundance, which is the title of Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson's new book. But there will be no abundance if society keeps aging and slowing down. The most aged countries are all economically stagnant. Immigration Won't Fix Things Immigration is hardly a solution. As Jesús Fernández-Villaverde has often explained, the vast majority of immigrants are not net positive for a country's balance sheet, and they too get old. In Canada, the economy has stagnated amid soaring immigration from poorer countries. Unless there are new cultural and economic drivers from the left encouraging people to have more kids, the ultra-liberal Gen Z will usher America into true demographic and economic calamity.

The US is finished. It’s done. There will never be another right-wing government. Democrats will win in 2028, open the floodgates, and finalize their strategy of importing voting blocs. They have been brainwashed via decades of propaganda, and it doesn’t help that their fathers and brothers are weak White men, not the strong men of old. Even with young White women moving left, this would’ve been less of a problem when Whites made up over 70% of the population; now they are barely 50%. Boomer Whites ignored reality, refused to see politics through a racial lens, and failed to install safeguards during the last two Trump terms that could have prevented this disaster from happening. Demographics are destiny. Non-Whites will ALWAYS vote for their interests. They will vote to take more of your money and to import more of their relatives. Who can blame them when we make it so easy for them to do so? When a country loses its White majority, you lose everything else. Europe faces the same fate unless we organize as a collective bloc, which currently looks unlikely. Dark times ahead.
