Henleys legs required amputation while he wrote this :
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed
Lesson : The game is ruthless, but regardless I will maintain my composure

Introducing the Resilient Economies Index! 📢
GCA is proud to launch the Resilient Economies Index, a groundbreaking new tool that maps the resilience of 54 African economies across three key pillars:
📊 Economic exposure
🏛️ Policy planning
💰 Access to finance
By translating rich and complex data into actionable insights, the Index report and online portal equip governments, investors, and communities with a compass to understand progress and to identify where resilience foundations are strongest and where more support is needed.

What is resilience?
It’s the ability of a society, economy, or system to withstand shocks, adapt, and recover in a timely and efficient manner.
That’s what our new Resilient Economies Index measures — mapping the resilience of 54 African economies across three key pillars: economic exposure, policy planning and access to finance.

Thank you @hausfath for putting this together. The new Climate change scenarios, CMIP7. In short: It narrows the range of future warming. But the medium is still where most scientists have thought it would be by 2100… high 2’s, low 3’s (degrees C of warming from pre-industrial) . Right now we are basically at 1.5. And some of these scenarios rely on aggressive carbon removal. I’m wary of both CDR’s potential and the fact that the pace at which we are reaching these thresholds (1.5, 2, etc…) is faster than earlier assumed. But I’m not the expert on this. So I’ll defer to them…

This summer Britain burnt. 3000 people died from the heat.
Yet this Government is drilling for more gas, despite scientist warnings & knowing that it won't make a difference to bills in the UK.
We need to double down on renewables, not bend to the wishes of fossil fuel bosses.

🌡️ The world is set to cross 1.5°C, likely within the next few years. But how far temperatures rise, how long they stay there and how much damage is done still depends on what countries do now.
