My wife and I had a joke in the first year: she was the engine and I was the passenger. I loved it then. Being wanted that much felt like winning something I hadn't earned.
Priya wanted sex the way other people want coffee: every morning, most nights, sometimes in the middle of the afternoon when I came home early and found her standing in the bedroom doorway, already smiling. She initiated so often that I stopped noticing I'd never once had to. I'd never had to wonder if she was in the mood.
By year three, I started wondering whether I could keep up.
It started small. I was tired after work, then tired on weekends, then tired in a way sleep didn't fix. She never pushed, but she never stopped reaching for me either, and I could feel the gap between her wanting and my capacity like a debt compounding in the dark. Some nights my body simply wasn't interested, no matter how much the rest of me was.
A doctor friend wrote me a prescription for Viagra. I told myself it was no different from a vitamin. For a few months it worked, and she was thrilled. She told me I was a different man, that she felt like we were newlyweds again. I smiled and took it as a compliment.
Then the headaches started. My heart would race afterward, hammering so hard I'd lie awake listening to it. I started planning my evenings around the pill, around the hour it needed, around the dread of the moment she'd turn toward me. Sex had become something I prepared for like a shift at work.
I never told her. She thought I was glowing. I was only surviving.
I moved in with a girl named Sarah when I was new in town. She became like an older sister to me. She said the apartment cost $1,600, so we each paid $800.
When my dad suddenly died, I couldn’t afford a flight home. I was crying on the kitchen floor when Sarah hugged me.
“Go home. I’ll talk to the landlord. Family comes first.”
When I returned, I started paying her back $100 or $200 from each paycheck. She always said the landlord told her to take her time.
Then one day, I found a mortgage statement in our mailbox. It had Sarah’s name on it.
She wasn’t renting the apartment. She owned it. There was no landlord.
When I confronted her, she broke down crying. Her mother had left her the apartment with a $1,300 mortgage she couldn’t afford.
She had invented a landlord because she was too scared to ask for help. Then she showed me my money. Every dollar was still there.
She hadn’t scammed me. She was just scared and lonely.
I hugged her and said, “Let’s face this together. No more lies.”
We lived together for another year, and it was the most honest year of my life.

Thanos believed eliminating half of all life would solve the universe’s resource problem, but his plan has a massive flaw.
He treated scarcity as if it were a permanent condition that could only be solved by removing people.
With the Infinity Stones, he possessed the power to reshape reality itself. He could have expanded resources, restored damaged ecosystems, or changed the conditions that created scarcity in the first place.
Instead, he chose mass extermination.
That is what makes Thanos interesting as a villain. His problem was not a lack of power or imagination. It was that he became so committed to his own conclusion that he stopped considering any other solution.

The biggest challenge facing the X-Men in the MCU is not introducing mutants. It is explaining why their existence changes everything.
Mutants are not simply another group of superheroes. Their powers are part of who they are, and their presence creates fear, prejudice, and political conflict even when they are trying to help people.
If Marvel introduces them as another team waiting to join the Avengers, it risks losing the central conflict that makes the X-Men different.
I want a world where the public can celebrate an Avenger for saving a city while treating a mutant child as a threat for being born different.
That contradiction is where the real X-Men story begins.
For YEARS, I thought the extra money appearing on my college bus card was some kind of mistake. Turns out, it was my GRANDMA. 🥹 When I started college, money was tight. I worked a little, my parents helped when they could, and I constantly complained about bus fare. Sometimes I'd swipe my card expecting almost nothing left, only to find extra credit. I assumed it was a promotion or something Dad had arranged.
Years later, Grandma casually said, "I loved when I had an extra fifty to put on your bus card." I was CONFUSED. She explained she'd written down my card number and secretly added money whenever her pension allowed. "How did you know I needed it?" I asked. She laughed. "You complained enough!" Grandma never had much money, so those little deposits meant something. When I asked why she'd done it, she said, "I couldn't drive you to college, so I helped the bus take you." I nearly cried.
All those years, I thought I was seeing random numbers on a screen. It was Grandma quietly making sure I got where I needed to go.

I was examining a cat and the owner said “his brother had bad teeth. Can you check his teeth?”
I know that a lot of times people with cats that are not genetically related will call them “brother” or “sister” and I need to clarify for a proper history.
So, what comes out of my mouth is:
“Are they actually brothers or, like, brothers in Christ?”
Her: …
Me: “I’m sorry. I don’t know why I said that.”

Some of you don’t have a motivation problem. You have a discipline problem. You keep saying you want a better life, but you refuse to give up the habits keeping you stuck.
YOU CAN’T KEEP SAYING YES TO YOUR BAD HABITS AND EXPECT YOUR LIFE TO CHANGE. Growth starts when you learn to say NO to what feels good today so you can build what matters tomorrow.
Be honest: What’s one habit people need to quit if they want to level up?

Batman can defeat the Joker, stop the Riddler, and bring criminals to justice, yet Gotham always finds another nightmare waiting around the corner.
I think this is the biggest contradiction in Batman’s world.
He is one of the greatest detectives alive, but his city repeatedly returns to the same cycle of corruption, violence, and desperation.
Of course, Gotham’s problems cannot be solved overnight. But if Batman keeps fighting the same battle for years, we should ask whether his mission is changing anything beyond the immediate threat.
Is Batman saving Gotham, or keeping it alive long enough to need him again?

There is something about Wolverine’s skeleton that fans often overlook.
His adamantium reinforces his bones, but his teeth are not simply another set of metal-coated bones. Teeth have a different structure, including enamel, dentin, and roots.
That raises an interesting question about how his healing factor works.
If Wolverine can survive devastating injuries and regenerate damaged tissue, why would his teeth still behave like ordinary teeth instead of becoming part of the same indestructible system?
The answer depends on the limits of his mutation, not just the fact that adamantium is bonded to his skeleton.
I went to a restaurant today, and the lady told me, “You know we don’t accept cash.”
I said, “That’s weird because I paid with cash yesterday.” And I was telling the truth! I thought she was just being difficult.
Then she asked, “Tell me who accepted it so I can fire them.”
I immediately said, “No!” But damn, I might’ve just gotten somebody in trouble.
Saw a kid in full banana costume at Trader Joe’s today. He suddenly pointed an accusatory finger at another customer and screamed, aghast,
My boss started treating my LUNCH BREAK like free time for meetings. 😭 We share a calendar, and I never blocked noon to 1 p.m. because I assumed lunch was understood.
BIG MISTAKE.
Soon, he was scheduling meetings during my entire break for FOUR DAYS STRAIGHT! When I asked him to reschedule, he said, “Your calendar was open.”
So I started blocking my lunch hour daily.
A week later, he asked why I blocked ALL my lunches and whether I could free up two for clients.
EXCUSE ME?! 😭
During my review, he even called me “less flexible.” I asked, “Is taking my scheduled lunch break considered inflexible now?”
He quickly changed the subject.
Eventually, the company required everyone to block their lunch hours, and the problem disappeared.
Funny how people treat your boundaries as optional until you enforce them.
