Looks like the "£1bn" announced by Rachel Reeves is not new money.
In 2023/24 @hmtreasury spent c£580m on building safety.
That should rise this year and again in 2025/26 so the statement from the Chancellor is underwhelming.
Is this the same old politics @UKLabour?

Labour have been very strong in their support over the years. A lot of those MPs who have been shoulder to shoulder with us are now on the front bench.
However, since coming to power Labour appears to care more about building new homes.
