Deeply moved by my colleagues at @MoJoUnion who organized this fundraiser following my termination at @MotherJones. As I navigate an unexpected period of transition, your support – no matter what the size – would mean the world. Every contribution helps. gofundme.com/f/community-sup…

Four academics from @BYU got copies of hundreds of thousands of records I obtained through years of FOIA requests and litigation and have started presenting and publishing a sizable body of work without mentioning that the records I acquired form the basis of their studies.

Hundreds are engaging in civil disobedience as a part of the People’s State of the Union & making it clear they disapprove of Biden’s support for Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. #CeasefireNow

We know our media & tech is this way by design. Big Media represents power, who gets to tell their stories & be represented justly. In Palestine, we see violence justified while Palestinians themselves do not have the power to create, distribute, & own their media environments.

Today Palestinians are suing @POTUS, @SecBlinken, & @SecDef in a federal court in CA for aiding and abetting Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
Every lawmaker that hasn’t called for a #CeasefireNow: consider yourself on notice. #WeChargeGenocide

Today’s announcement was the direct result of the mounting pressure, criticism, & organizing led by communities impacted by police surveillance. While it’s great news, we won’t stop until we see an end to all of amazons surveillance partnerships w/police

The FTC just banned RiteAid, a major retailer, from using facial recognition for five years based on its harmful and irresponsible use of a system that was set up to fail, and likely to fail Black, Asian, Latino, and women consumers the most.

Listening to a 🔥👏 panel on electronic monitoring technologies, race, racism and carcerality in United States and Brazil. It involves lived experience insights. So moving and galvanising. Thankful to be part of these discussions in Brasilia 🇧🇷 with @PNUDBrasil @UNDP @CNJ_oficial

New: A court used an invasive smart-phone app to surveil the entire family of a man released on bond.
The app sent screenshots of everything the family did on their phones back to probation officers.
Now he’s back in jail, and the app may be to blame.
