Mazagon Dock is partnering with Swan Defence Shipyard (formerly Pipavav Shipyard/Reliance Naval) for the Indian Navy's LPD project.
Swan has India's largest dry dock, measuring 662m x 65m, and MDL does not have the space to construct these ships.
🔶At #IMW2025 in Mumbai, #MDL signed a *Teaming Agreement* with Swan Defence and Heavy Industries to collaborate on the design and construction of Landing Platform Docks for the Indian Navy. This strategic partnership reinforces #AatmanirbharBharat through a strong public–private synergy in defence shipbuilding.

1) We have our MILAN which has been getting bigger in the last few editions.
2) Defexpo as well as AeroIndia are not limited to land and air respectively. Navy (including naval aviation) is prominent in both.
3) A DefExpo type dedicated naval event could be useful.
What is the reason for India not having a dedicated maritime-focused defense event? Similar to AeroIndia (aviation) and Defexpo (land).
Regional naval events:
IMDEX, Singapore
NAVDEX, UAE
Indo Pacific 2025, Australia
LIMA, Malaysia
