Seeing that despicable weasely cunt @owenjonesjourno trying to justify and minimise his infatuation with a rapist is absolutely delicious. Rather than just own up to a dreadful error of judgment he tries to minimise it. Even tho we all saw it. Glorious

Been trying for months to capture this image, every time I have tried he's flown away! Using high zoom I managed it finally. I will keep trying to get the perfect snapshot!

What it’s like to be a reporter in Scotland.
This piece to camera went so far off the rails so quickly. Filming in Niddrie on bonfire night… cameo by Police Scotland’s finest.

What a memorial 🤩
REMEMBRANCE: NEWCASTLE "NOT FOR SELF BUT FOR COUNTRY" "The Response 1914" is a dramatic war memorial which sits at Barras Bridge, in the grounds of St Thomas the Martyr Church. It was commissioned and gifted by Sir George and Lady Renwick to commemorate the raising of the Northumberland Fusiliers "Commercial" and "Pals" battalions in 1914, and sculpted by Sir William Goscombe John. It depicts recruits, drummer boys, families saying farewell, and a winged angel sounding a trumpet. The front says: NON SIBI SED PATRIAE [Not for Self but for Country] THE RESPONSE 1914 It is thought to be based on the 5th Northumberland Fusiliers in April 1915, when they gathered at Gosforth, marched down the Great North Road to Central Station and to the battlefields of Europe. The rear of the memorial features a carved figure of St George, flanked by a 1647 Northumberland Fusilier and a 1919 Fusilier, with the words: QUO FATA VOCANT [Whither the Fates Call] TO COMMEMORATE THE RAISING OF THE B COY 9TH BATT & THE 16TH 18TH & 19TH SERVICE BATTALIONS NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS BY THE NEWCASTLE & GATESHEAD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AUG-OCT 1914 THE GIFT OF SIR GEORGE RENWICK BT DL AND LADY RENWICK MCMXXIII It was unveiled on 5 July 1923 by HRH The Prince of Wales (who would become Edward VIII), and later re-dedicated on 25 October 2007 by Prince Philip. Pic and info from fabulousnorth.com/the-respon… which tells us that "The Royal Northumberland Fusiliers raised 52 Battalions throughout the 1914 - 1919 conflict, more than any other Regiment." --- Sign On to Stay in Touch at aforceforgood.uk/sign-up

Not a poem today just a painting. A painting of one of the very few pics of the MERT aircraft. Pictures were never taken on this aircraft, this was from a professional photographer documenting what the team did for history more than anything. The MERT aircraft was a sanctioned space, a place of respect, utmost professionalism, intense emotion, and danger. But that aircraft taught me more about love and loss than I had ever known before. #lestweforget

Long post worth the read. I have a close friend who flies private jets. He flew Lear 60 for over 15 years and now flies a Gulfstream. This is a copy and paste of his response to me asking him if he thought Ice was the issue. “We always fly in ridiculous cold temperatures.” “Usually you get the bad ice when the temperatures are like 0 to negative 20. Believe it or not, there's a point where it gets too cold for ice. At negative 40, you pretty much can't get ice. Besides that, the airplane is equipped with hot wings and hot tail.” “I flew the Lear 60 for like 15 years. It's a no joke airplane and probably the most dangerous airplane I've ever flown. It has a super critical wing. The airflow has to be perfect. When it gets into rough air and turbulence, it will easily stall. It has stalled on me at 41,000 feet just because we got into some turbulence. (On the way to Palm Beach as a matter of fact. ) we recovered and got her flying again around 30,000 ft. Scary But here's the problem. This airplane has a terrible coffin corner. (At high altitudes) what that means is, you fly in a really narrow window where if you lose 20 knots, it stalls. And if you gain 20 knots, it goes into overspeed. The air goes supersonic over the wing and it goes into a high speed stall, or worse, a Mach tuck. So if you stall, the normal recovery is to push the yoke forward to lower the nose and gain air speed again. At low altitude, you can push really hard and recover quickly. But in the 60... if you push hard, it will gain air speed and go into a high speed stall, it doesn't take much. It's very sensitive. The 60 has super short wings that don't make much lift. So then you high speed stall, and the computer is yelling at you... OVERSPEED! So then you pull back and enter a low speed stall. And you go back and forth trying to keep it in the air speed window. This whole thing is pretty scary. And you should recover basically by using your finger tips using super small corrections. You can't over do it. If you try to muscle the recovery, she gets mad and will become unrecoverable. If she enters a mach tuck. You're done.” “I taught the Lear 60 to other pilots and mentored them. I told them... this airplane has a soul and it's trying to kill you. Do not ever try to top the weather. Don't go over a thunderstorm. Go around it. If it means a half hour longer, then do it. Going over the thunderstorm will go into turbulence that you might not recover from. These pilots went right over a thunderstorm. I think it stalled which caused them to drop down into the thunderstorm and ended up in mach tuck. They picked up so much speed that it ripped off the horizontal stabilizer. At that point... chuck Yeager can't fix it. These same pilots did something similar a couple months ago. ATC got mad at them. They poked the bear one too many times. This is not a beginner airplane. The Gulfstream would never do this. It has HUGE margins of error and won't stall like that. But then again... it's got HUGE wings. It's a pussy cat. The Gulfstream is like driving a 4 wheeler. The Lear 60 is like riding a uni cycle.”

Waking up this morning in Atlanta, I’m appalled by what has unfolded since my original post about the shocking audio from the Learjet 60 crash in Florida yesterday. Missile strikes. DEI conspiracies. People inventing increasingly ludicrous explanations and presenting them as fact while investigators are barely beginning their work. The ignorance is staggering. But it’s the treatment of this young co-pilot, including by people purporting to be aviation professionals, that I find utterly sickening. Her gender, her fear and her final words have become ammunition for misogyny and ridicule. That’s wrong on so many levels. I hear a pilot facing something that would terrify any of us, still communicating with air traffic control until the final moments. Thousands of hours in a logbook, or our gender, don’t make us immune to fear, nor allow us to understand everything happening in that cockpit from a few radio calls. And now, even the measured voices asking for evidence, patience and compassion are themselves receiving hate. What has this platform become when even asking for basic human decency invites abuse. I expect better from our profession and humans in general. Seeing people who should know better join this grotesque pile-on leaves me deeply disappointed and disgusted. My heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of everyone lost. Behind every headline and recording are people whose lives have been shattered. They deserve compassion, dignity and answers. Not this.

The Garden of Remembrance @RNSubMuseum in Gosport, Hampshire. Nearly 6000 British submariners who have died in service since 1901 are remembered here. Three olives trees feature in the garden - they are 125 years old, the same age as the Royal Navy Submarine Service. ⚓️ #SM125
