It all starts with a dream - Back in 2013 Maatram foundation was started to support one girl child get access to higher education. The video that you see here is our current strength today. We are 3365+ students strong and counting. Believe in your dreams #MaatramFoundation
Last night I got into my cab at 9:10 pm parked in the 5th floor of the airport parking lot. I reached the main road at 9:56 pm. Can’t imagine this happening anywhere else…absolute madness and this is after paying a bomb as parking fees. @aaichnairport
Do the Chennai airport authority folks even know what’s going on in the parking area. It’s utter chaos & stuck in the same place for the last 20 mins. It will take another one hour to reach the ground floor. No city airport has such worse parking arrangements #Chennaiairport
Seriously…a power cut is far better than the kind of power fluctuations we experience every night. Losing expensive gadgets is frustrating and the kind of inaction from EB officials is frustrating. @TANGEDCO_Offcl …is there any solution at all to this problem
A special picture - Our annual Alumni Day on October 2nd was a moment to pause and reflect.
Our alumni are now part of 448+ unique organisations, from Amazon to Zoho. To see them return with their parents, spouses and children was truly special #MaatramFoundation
I wish more youngsters watch the Asian games like they watch the IPL. Absolute goosebumps moment specially to see our girls win the athletic gold in the relay event and in many other discipline in athletics. The day we celebrate these stars like our cricketers is the real change
The police and the goons in civil dress hitting the students in Delhi must understand - these students are also fighting for your children rights. Is dialogue such a difficult thing to do?
It was clear- Spain played to win while Argentina played not to lose. Clearly the most boring World Cup finals. #Fifa2026
One player who has been absolutely jobless till now is the Spanish goalkeeper. Zero attempts by Argentina is a bit surprising. Looks like they are pushing this to a penalty shoot out.
My god…what did we just watch . Nothing less than a miracle.3 goals in 13 mins. Unbelievable #Argentina #Fifa2026

You build flyovers to decongest traffic and close it in the night. Create artificial traffic jams with signals not working and no cops to monitor. Wonder what a weird logic. @cctpolice pls evaluate and save us from this misery #Chennaitraffic

Chief guest is not on the stage.
He is the reason for the stage.

Honoured to host Parthiban, Bharathy Baskar, @sujithkumar13 @DrPalan as we celebrate what hard work can achieve.
This is the India we believe in. 🇮🇳
For all that you went through in the last few months, god has been extremely kind. Enjoy every single moment of this success @RJ_Balaji Can’t tell you how happy Iam for you and the team. ❤️#Rjbalaji #Karuppu
Just one opportunity can change the life of a student struggling to get access to higher education. Maatram Foundation opens its admission process for the academic year 2026. Please help spread the word. #Maatramfoundation #Admissions2026
With the kind of flat pitches that we prepare for IPL, it’s best to go with 11 batsmen and replace bowlers with a bowling machine. So tired of seeing just 6’s and 4’s. In future kids who want to play cricket will never pick up the ball. Boring #IPL2026
Nine teams are playing IPL…looks like CSK alone is playing in some local league tournament. Many of the other team reserve players look stronger than the playing CSK XI. Lagging in all departments and this year they will be crucified by teams one after the other. #CSK
Souls like Dr.Tapan Kumar Lahiri are the ones we should celebrate…
When the Government of India announced the Padma Shri for Dr. Tapan Kumar Lahiri,
the protocol required him to travel to Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi to receive the honor from the President.
However, Dr. Lahiri was hesitant to go. His reasoning was simple: "If I go to Delhi, who will look after my patients in the OPD?" For him, a day away from the hospital wasn't a holiday; it was a day his patients—many of whom traveled from Bihar and rural UP—would go untreated.
Finally he did go given the prestige associated with the event.
Who is Dr Tapan Lahiri?
Dr. Tapan Kumar Lahiri is a legendary Indian cardiothoracic surgeon and professor commonly referred to as the "Saint of BHU". Dr. Lahiri has done FRCS and MCh and working in BHU.
Dr. Lahiri’s commitment to the poor is extraordinary.
In 1994, when his salary (including allowances) exceeded ₹1 lakh, he stopped taking it entirely, directing the university to use the funds for the treatment of underprivileged patients.
After retiring in 2003, he continued this practice with his pension. He keeps only enough to cover two simple meals a day and donates the remainder to the BHU patient fund.
Even in his 80s, he has been known to walk to the hospital at 6:00 AM daily, carrying a simple bag and a black umbrella, to check on his patients.
As he says
"With the grace of Lord Vishwanath and Maa Annapurna, I will keep serving patients till my last breath."
A brilliant example of how one man with conviction can make a difference. Officers like @jeyaseelan_vp needs to be celebrated. They go about doing their work silently and continue to make a difference. Congratulations Jeyaseelan sir and thank you @thebetterindia for this showcase
When V P Jeyaseelan became District Collector of Virudhunagar, he didn’t chase headlines—he changed lives.
From boosting college enrollment from 65% to 95%, to restoring 3,000 water bodies and bringing maternal deaths to zero, his governance spoke through impact.
He empowered women, persons with disabilities, and the transgender community—who honoured him by naming their colony after him.
If this is what one officer can do, imagine the possibilities.
