It's been a truly demanding first week as Chief Minister. It's hands-on, full swing, and all-encompassing. However, my two bosses, @PresidentBio and @VP_Jalloh, make the work feel lighter. Every minute, we are doing something to make life better for citizens. Every minute!

Why not talk about today’s existing harms instead of inventing future ones? Such a good question—>
"The contradictions have been heightened, with the godfathers of AI and others speaking out and authoring these particular letters about futuristic potential harms. However, many women have been warning about the existing harms of artificial intelligence for many years." Tawana Petty, AJL's Director of Policy and Advocacy, joined a roundtable discussion on @democracynow to comment on recent warnings from the "godfathers of AI," contrasting their future concerns to the existing work of organizations like AJL to fight current biases and harm created by artificial intelligence.

Thank you Dan. The workshop, 'Formation Through Design Thinking' turned out to be a great event. Thanks Dan @riehs for all your hard work and partnership.
Setting up for a big design thinking workshop @sunand_bc and I are facilitating over two days at the AJCU HR conference. This room still doesn’t have enough wall space, but at least there’s plenty of natural light!

What a wonderful and thought provoking keynote by Paul Romer. Very apt for opening our new building housing human-centered engineering, the making and prototyping spaces and the Schiller Institute for Integrated Science and Society.
Nobel laureate @PaulRomer was the keynote at an event to formally open BC’s new integrated science building. on.bc.edu/3C0YpC8

Not your everyday engineering course! So proud to see how the BC Human-centered Engineering program is rolling out new/innovative courses to its freshman that encompass technology and the liberal arts ( history) fused together addressing complex societal problems. Much needed! – at Chelmsford, MA
This past Thursday, HCE’s Core Complex Problems course Making the Modern World spent their time learning about bridges and suspension forces. They were then able to put it into practice by making their bridges made out of popsicle sticks and glue. How cool!
