My story has so many similarities to Jen Hatmaker’s, but we’re in very different places with our relationship with Jesus - at least at the moment. I wrote a little about how that happened.
There’s so much more to my story, but this is a start.
Aligning "faith in Jesus Christ" with the dehumanizing practices of this administration, and the degrading and depraved behavior of its President, is idolatrous blasphemy against the name of the real, risen, and soon to be returning Jesus Christ.
Here I stand.
This was the episode @tlberglund and I just watched. Mesmerizing in every way. (S6E11)
With this platform offering up so much poisonous distortion of what real manhood is and the good it brings to the world, my timeline here being filled with nothing but hardworking pizza grocery man and tributes to Patrick Stewart is doing my heart so much good.
Oh gosh this one hurts. 💔

The most honorable thing I have ever seen a man do is to go to a job he hates, and be surrounded by people he doesn’t like, day after day, year after year, because the people he loves are counting on him.
I’ve been red pilled, black pilled, white pilled, clear pilled. All the pills.
I don’t even know which one this is, but it’s one of the strongest ones I’ve had in a long long time. The desperation in his voice. You can see the sight of his kids in his eyes when he says he’s supposed to be home with them. You can see the math he’s doing in his head as he calculates how much money he has left, and how much he needs for his mortgage, and when it’s due.
What the hell is the American dream anymore? Is this what it’s about? Is there anyone who would say this guy isn’t working his ass off? For what? So that 25% of his income can go to a government that wastes it on a bunch of shit he didn’t vote for? Subsidizing the food he stocks grocery stores with for people who don’t work a 1,000th of how hard he works to buy groceries with EBT cards that he pays for, which then drives up the cost of groceries for him and his family that he pays for out of his paycheck because he’s doing it the right way.
This entire system is shit. It’s shit. There is no nicer way to put it. It is dog. shit.
This guy should be working a 9-5 at a job that gives him dignity so that he can be at home with his kids at a decent time. Instead he’s some jerk off’s content. His stressed out, end of his rope reaction is some asshole’s income.
This is bleak stuff. Absolutely bleak.

This is the Oxyrhynchus Hymn, dated to the late 200s AD. It is the earliest known Christian hymn manuscript with both lyrics and musical notation. A plain English rendering of the surviving words:
“Let all creation be silent.
Let the shining stars be still.
Let the rushing winds and rivers cease.
While we sing to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
let every power answer: Amen, amen.
Strength, praise, and glory forever to God,
the only giver of all good things. Amen, amen.”

One heckuva review from @nytimesbooks. What a dream.
nytimes.com/2026/10/23/books…
Glad to finally get my hands on a physical copy of this.
Don’t be fooled by @chuckdegroat ‘s seemingly gentle, kind demeanor. This is a dangerous, disruptive book, the kind some people will be afraid to read.
Which is precisely why they should do it anyway.
Review coming soon…

If you’re planning Advent, I have a couple slots left for speaking in December. Have had some really beautiful events around this book over the last couple seasons. DM me!
Heaven and Nature Sing: 25 Advent Reflections to Bring Joy to the World by @sometimesalight
hardcover: $15.48
“This is a beautiful book in every sense: poetically written, richly illustrated, and thoughtfully conceived. Weaving together the physical meaning of creation with the spiritual meaning of Christmas, Hannah and Nathan Anderson reveal the ways in which Advent is enacted all around us, in pine trees and snowfall, holly and sap. Joy to the world, indeed!”

I've never spoken at @yow_conf before, and @swimflythrive and I are really looking forward to being down under for this. The lessons from this particular history are hard to find, but that's not gonna stop us from finding them!
Everyone's talking about the AI revolution.
@tlberglund wants to take a step back in his #YOW26 keynote & look at the ideas and technologies that brought us here - from the early days of AI research through neural networks & transformers to today's generative AI boom...
The Pope/Anthropic thing shouldn’t overshadow this other terrible development.
TLDR: Evangelical innovation under the guise of mission is as old as the Tower of Babel, and just as bad.

1/ We arrived at this ontological inflation of the machine exactly through ontological deflation of the human.
You've undergone the long arc of the Western reduction of the soul to code so now you think code has a soul. The deflation & inflation are two sides of the same coin.
NEW: According to a bombshell report in the New York Times, Anthropic co-founder Chris Olah threatened to walk out of Pope Leo XIV’s AI encyclical launch in May because the pope rejected the idea that machines can be conscious.
Olah’s team then privately lobbied the pope’s advisers “to take the possibility of model consciousness seriously.” Pope Leo XIV held firm.
For months, Anthropic has wined and dined theologians and religious scholars under nondisclosure agreements, hoping they would bless the idea that Claude has moral standing. thelettersfromleo.com/p/nyt-…

I don’t know how Crusades work, precisely, but if the Pope called for the sacking of Silicon Valley solely for its hubris … we’d have to at least hear him out, right?
