I listened to a moving performance by the Lewis Merthyr Brass Band commemorating the Aberfan disaster ahead of its 60th anniversary. I had the chance to speak with David Davies, a survivor and Aberfan Memorial Charity Chair. Today, we remember the 144 people who lost their lives.

‘We owe it to all those who lost their lives at Aberfan to build a better future' - @andyburnham
Yesterday I joined the Prime Minister in Aberfan ahead of tomorrow’s 60th anniversary.
It was an honour to meet members of the community - including survivors of that terrible day.

It was an honour to accompany the Prime Minister to Aberfan today where we laid a wreath, visited the memorial garden and met with survivors.
It was a deeply moving experience, and a reminder of the unparalleled strength and resilience of the community.

You cannot root out a rotten apple when the whole barrel is gone.
This week revealed what we already know.
Reform are rotten to the core and they cannot be trusted in Wales nor the UK.

Chemical contamination sites across Wales must be tested.
It is morally wrong to look away just because you might not like what you see. We deserve the full picture at the very least.

If these cuts go ahead, there will be one bed for every 2250 patients in Powys.
We need the Minister for Health and Care to step in and stop Montgomeryshire from turning into a healthcare desert @WelshGovernment @mabonapgwynfor

A huge win for Welsh children, secured by Ken Skates and Welsh Labour. 🏴 🌹
While some told him to give up, Ken kept fighting and secured another late victory to take funding up to £60m, up from the £40m offered last week.
This is what standing up for Wales looks like. 🏴
Thank you @KenSkatesMS. We need Natural Resources Wales to undertake soil and water testing, and Public Health Wales to set up a voluntary blood testing programme. Without test results in hand, we won't be able to move forward.
Welsh Government has the power to make this happen.

You cannot put borders on Welsh Power.
Wales wasn’t built by people who retreated.
Wales was built by people who went out and changed the world.
Hopeful. Ambitious. Rooted in solidarity.

Women and girls should be able to live their lives free from violence and abuse.
But when these crimes happen, we need a justice system that properly supports victims.
So we’re making changes.

The bereaved families of military personnel should always be at the heart of our acts of remembrance as a nation.
The extension of free rail travel to next of kin on national rail services to events between 7 and 8 November is the right thing to do.
This is the first time this has been made available and builds on the existing free travel offer for serving personnel and veterans.
I am proud this Government is acting to make our national acts of remembrance a little easier for those for whom the day is so deeply personal.

I'm proud this government is pushing ahead with clean power but I also applaud the previous government for all the renewables they deployed over 14 years.
The problem was they didn't build the grid to connect them.
Don't ask Andrew who the Minister for Networks was...
🥀 This is what Labour’s rush to Net Zero is doing to bills - £100 extra for every household in Britain.
🥀 That’s £8 BILLION being paid to turn wind farms OFF when it’s too windy and turn Gas power station ON.
🥀 It’s absolutely mad. And we need change.
🇬🇧 The Conservative Cheap Power Plan will deliver cheaper power, quicker.
Pay attention. There are thousands of contaminated land sites across Wales and next to nothing is being done about it.
@WelshGovernment @NatResWales - test these sites now.
I won't stand for cuts to Powys healthcare - I'll be standing with my constituents, who know they will bear the brunt of them.
