The 2016 contract provided a 2% year on year pay rise. However, inflation is 10%. An 8.4% rise from 2016, remains a 35% cut from 2008. It is smoke and mirrors tactics from the government and their mouthpieces. The JDs have always supported us. I support the #JuniorDoctorsStrike
Junior doctors in England will be taking strike action next week Whilst UK media stands by silently the Government is engaged in a shameless campaign to demonize them I will not stand by and watch that happen - here are some actual FACTS

Trauma patients requiring admission with multiple specialty input (all non operative) 1. Specialty one. Not for us. 2. Specialty two. Not for us. 3. Specialty three. Not for us. Fine I'll just keep him in the emergency department for the foreseeable then!

If anyone is in any doubt: The social distancing guidance applies to every one, including you. Full details: gov.uk/coronavirus Short details: Don't be a dick, observe #coronavirus guidance #StayHomeSaveLives
On nights and my team have had to issue tickets to people who are warned to go home and either refuse,or are found out again.Unfortunately some people think the guidance doesn’t apply to them.Plenty of vehicles stopped so far, tickets are the last option.

Especially when it has a knock on effect... 30+ Patients waiting for a bed in ED means all cubicles are full, leading to longer wait times across the department because there’s no physical space to see patients in for the EM docs or the specialities coming to review 2/2

100% should be from booking in yet some trusts move the bench marks - ‘DTA time’ or even further ‘once SpR or higher has clerked’ meaning patients are waiting in ED for anything upwards of 16 hours if they don’t get seen by a senior till the PTWR at 9am when the clock starts 😓

Crowded Emergency Departments must be addressed. Hospital Boards need to recognise the patient safety risk and make sure the whole system helps unblock ED cubicles. Wrexham Maelor Hospital patients 'waiting on trolleys for hours' bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-5035…

Great Compliment from air ambulance doctor praising NGH A&E and Blood bank for coordinated action in a severe trauma case - good impact on a seriously ill patient and good to see recognition of our essential support services #bestposscare
