Itinyi (right) came to us utterly broken-hearted. He was orphaned under the very worst circumstances — his mother was killed before his eyes. For many months after his rescue, he suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder, sheltering in a corner of his stockade and refusing to interact. That’s why these photos are so meaningful. With time and patience, we earned Itinyi’s trust and helped him find happiness once again. Fellow orphans-turned-friends like Ashanti (left) were instrumental in his healing journey. This series says it all — despite his fraught beginnings, our brave little bull is flourishing. Read Itinyi’s story: swt.bio/itinyi
