Irfan Habib wrote an article in HT before the excavation started. He argued that the ASI should not go deeper than 2 metres because the dispute pertains to medieval India and any depth more than that would yield material culture of the ancient India and a brick of the Kushan period could be used as a evidence of a Hindu structure. The Muslim side took the cue and pleaded with the HC to prescribe a 2-metre depth limit to the ASI. The court asked the ASI to reply. The agency argued that limiting the depth would be against the principles of archaeology. It would be an incomplete and meaningless exercise. A couple of months before, Habib had admitted of a structure beneath the earth but called it ‘a residential quarter for marginalised sections.’ All his roguery has been unmasked in my book India’s Rogue Historians. Here is the link. amzn.in/d/073fAHRv
Supreme Court’s Babri Masjid verdict was “totally illegitimate” from a historian's point of view, says historian Irfan Habib in a conversation with @dksingh73 and @MandhaniApoorva.

Polish MEP Dominik Tarczyński is explaining what is happening right now at Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal, calling it nothing less than a COUP D’ÉTAT! “In Poland, we have a liberal-left government led by Donald Tusk, who is the Prime Minister. What is happening right now with the Constitutional Tribunal is that they want to take it over and fill it with their own people. Why? Because they want to get rid of the Polish currency, bring us into the eurozone, and eliminate our secure borders. They are being pushed by the Germans, who want to spread the burden of illegal migration and send migrants to Poland. First of all, the Polish złoty is our constitutionally protected currency. They have to change the Constitution to replace it, and without the Constitutional Tribunal, they cannot do that. So, number one, they want to get rid of our currency and force us to adopt the euro and join the eurozone. Then they want to take our gold reserves, the largest in the European Union, to Frankfurt, to the European Central Bank, which is a German-based institution. They also want to open our borders. And they want to make sure that when they lose the next elections, which are coming next year, the Constitutional Tribunal will be unable to do anything to stop their actions or reverse what they have done. There are many more reasons, but I want you to understand one thing: they are under German influence. They are globalists, and we are fighting not just for Poland, but for Europe. Be like Poland. Be strong. Our nation is strong, and we are going to win this fight!”

The main Bilal at Mount Road does similar violations
A half Km stretch of service lane, around Bilal Restaurant on Pallavaram Radial Road is completely encroached with food carts, Bilal customer cars and other heavy vehicles, creating nuisance & obstructing pedestrian movement. Don't know why Chromepet Traffic Police, Chitlapakkam L&O, Highway Officials not initiating any action to remove these encroachments inspite of repeated complaints. Doubt whether some officials from the above Department on the payroll of these encroachers. @CMOTamilnadu @AadhavArjuna @Chief_Secy_TN @copmahesh1994 @tnpoliceoffl @tnpdial100 @COPTBM @chennai_Highway @Tambaram_Corp @DISTRICTCPT

Dear Mrs. Sitarama, 1.Which "legal and commercial matter" required Tata Trusts and Tata Sons to be hosted at Amit Shah's residence? 2.When is crony number 1 going to appear in the game and which pieces of Tata is he going to get? Finally, all India's businesses except 3-4 of your cronies, already hate all of you and don't need any incitement.

It’s laughable that Jacinda Ardern the tyrannical leader who enforced medical apartheid is now to teach empathetic leadership, social cohesion and civic trust. Having fled New Zealand where she is despised she has spent the last years trying to reinvent herself as a woman of kindness and compassion. It’s never gonna happen. The internet is forever and we have the receipts.

There are so many issues with NRI investments which have reduced their investments in India. For example- a fund cannot have more than 50 pct collective NRI money. Why- no one knows. An individual NRI cannot own more than 25 pct of a fund- Why- no one knows. This applies to even OCIs ( who are foreign citizens) but not to foreign citizens who don't have OCI: why- no one knows. General explanation is that Indians will do round tripping through NRIs/OCIs. Why will they do round tripping- no one knows. There is no difference in taxes whether u are India based or FII. Even if there is no real financial logic to do round tripping but some Indian resident wants to round tripping - Why Indian will do round tripping only through NRIs/OCIs and not foreign citizens- no one knows. And at the end of it- if some very small number of residents do have foreign money outside and they want to invest it back in India why stop them- no one knows. Also if a small percentage are doing something which authorities do not approve, why stop the route for a much much much much larger genuine population- no one knows.

Cabinet Expansion or Cabinet of Exceptions? FROM TODAY, J&K CM OMAR ABDULLAH CABINET WILL HAVE NO REPRESENTATION FROM JAMMU. Four new ministers have been inducted, all from the Kashmir Valley. Meanwhile, Jammu-based minister Satish Sharma has been dropped. Voters of Jammu being punished for overwhelmingly voting for BJP? Doesn't the latest expansion deepen the regional imbalance?

Another fatal luxury car crash that killed a scooterist in Kerala by a 17 year old, son of District Judge ⚠️ Victim's Niece was told, "Don't teach me law, you have no rights to question me" - Minor's father(additional district judge) "Don't overreact and get emotionally driven, he is just a 17 year old kid" - Kerala Police The accident occurred at around 2:20 AM to 3:00 AM at Cheranalloor in Kochi. A speeding luxury Mercedes-Benz car, registered under the name of the additional judge, rammed into a scooter from behind. The scooter rider, 55-year-old Jayabalakrishnan of Manjali, was killed. He was a local street vendor returning home after closing his wayside eatery (thattukada) near a temple in Chittoor. The 17-year-old minor, who does not possess a driving license, reportedly took the car out for a night drive. He was speeding at 100km/hr while the crash occured as per reports. The victim's niece JAYALAKSHMI claims that the accused was not shown to them at the police station and Kerala police insisted them to not get emotionally driven by this incident as if this isn't a big loss at all. The father of the 17 year old accused who is a district court judge spoke rudely at the police station asking them not to teach him law as per Jayalakshmi's claim. The central issue is the loss of a human life. Jayabalakrishnan's family has suffered an irreversible loss, and the circumstances surrounding his death must be investigated thoroughly. The victim and his family deserve justice, while the investigation and any subsequent legal proceedings must establish responsibility on the basis of evidence rather than influence, status or public speculation.

A temple is not a tourist spot. It is a sacred space. The issue before the Madras High Court arose after allegations that Srinath, a non-Hindu and Tamil Nadu Fisheries Minister, visited the Tiruchendur Murugan Temple without submitting the written undertaking required under existing guidelines. The Court reiterated that non-Hindus visiting Hindu temples must follow the prescribed norms and respect temple customs and traditions. What should be the punishment for such ministers so that they don't repeat the mistake?

the joke that 'ease of doing business in India' has been, only keeps getting better
Look at the chaos unleashed. Crazy stuff. RBI’s new forex reporting regime kicked in on Oct 1. On Oct 7, the RBI Governor said individuals earning from overseas services (tutors, freelancers, consultants etc) don’t need to report. 23 days later. No FAQ. No written clarification. Banks still sending freelancers a four-spreadsheet Export Declaration Form. Only 2 of 90 banks have published the mandated SOPs via @SindhuHarih in @businessline

Good @indianexpress piece tracing how India’s bullet train took a long detour. It started as a pure Shinkansen import and is now a hybrid with Japanese tracks and civil design +European signalling via a European-Indian JV+ Made in India trains( BEML’s B28, at 250 kmph) The costs have nearly doubled (realistically speak it is par for courase in most HSR projects outside PRC) to about ₹2 lakh crore. The first section is now due in Dec 2027, against an original 2022 deadline for the whole line. The friction had causes on both sides. Japan wanted to export the entire system. India wanted flexibility, cost control and strong elements of indigenisation. Japan’s E5 trainset was phased out, and the E10 won’t be available before 2034. On India’s side, land acquisition was a challenge Japanese experts continue to warn that mixing systems on one corridor carries safety risks India must address. That’s a fair concern. But after watching global supply chains weaponised since 2017-18, it would be daft to expect India to give up a chance to build its own capability in a greenfield project. Japan may be a benign partner. Self-reliance in critical technology still isn’t negotiable.
