Among patients with stroke due to medium-vessel occlusion, thrombectomy led to functional independence at 90 days (in 58.6% of patients, vs. 46.6% with medical management) but also to a higher risk of intracranial hemorrhage. Although ventricular enlargement is a key feature of idiopathic normal-pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH), this finding alone is nonspecific, occurring in many conditions, including brain volume loss with aging. The ventriculomegaly of idiopathic normal-pressure hydrocephalus is often described as “out of proportion to brain atrophy,” which is a subjective assessment. Read the full review: nej.md/4pxWVad

Landmark results!
Presented at #SVIN25: CREST-2: In high-grade asymptomatic carotid stenosis, addition of stenting to medical therapy led to a lower risk of stroke over a 4-year period. Endarterectomy did not lead to a significant benefit. Full results: nej.md/3LK9kst Editorial: Managing Asymptomatic Carotid Stenosis nej.md/482XjG1 @svinsociety
