Sir, @realFemiOtedola — I’ve wanted to write this for a while.
I’m Goodness Donye, a final-year medical student at the University of Lagos, an aspiring cardiothoracic surgeon, and genuinely a huge admirer of your journey.
I’ve always found the parallels between high-stakes enterprise and complex surgery fascinating: both demand extraordinary discipline, composure under pressure, calculated decisions, and mastery built over decades.
From earning 9 A1s in WASSCE to ranking among the top students in medical school, authoring anatomical literature before completing my MBBS, and pursuing excellence at every stage, I’ve tried to make excellence a standard—not merely a milestone.
As I prepare for global surgical training and the immense responsibility that comes with becoming a surgeon, I’m increasingly interested not only in what successful people achieve, but in how they think, execute, endure pressure, and remain exceptional over time.
That is why I’m reaching out to you.
I would be deeply honoured to learn from your experience, particularly your approach to high-pressure execution, mental stamina, leadership, and operating at the highest level.
Sir, I’m not just asking you to notice this post. I’m hoping, someday, to have the privilege of learning from your playbook.
- from a huge fan & hopefully a mentee to be, Sir.
@realFemiOtedola 🙏🏽❤️

What if I told you 10 engineering teams at UNILAG are currently building solutions to Nigerian problems… and we might not be able to afford to let them finish?
Please, Watch this Video. 👇
@hackSultan @AdoraNwodo @SamuelOtigba @Tunde_OD
5,000 engineering students. 10 departments. 10 prototypes.
And somehow, we still struggle to convince people to fund innovation.
On August 28, over 2000 students from all 10 engineering departments at the University of Lagos will come together for the first ever PIDEC Grand Finale, where student teams will present prototypes built to solve actual Nigerian problems.
I’m Faisal Adams, a final year Electrical & Electronics Engineering student at UNILAG and Chairman of PIDEC, the Prototype Inter Departmental Engineering Challenge.
Together with the President of the University of Lagos Engineering Society, Olawale Ayoola, we created PIDEC around a simple idea:
Engineering students shouldn’t spend four or five years learning how things work without getting enough opportunities to actually build.
And honestly, this is where I need your help.
Because these students have spent weeks BUILDING:
🩸 A device for point-of-care blood typing.
⚡ Smart energy management for homes.
🛡️ A wearable child-safety GPS tracker.
🌱 Soil intelligence for agriculture and farm infrastructure.
🛣️ Real-time pothole detection and mapping.
♻️ Intelligent waste sorting.
…and four more prototypes tackling problems across healthcare, infrastructure, drainage, petroleum and more.
This is what happens when you give engineering students permission to stop just learning engineering and actually DO engineering.
But here’s the problem.
We are still on our way to hit our ₦10 MILLION target to make this first edition what it deserves to be.
And we are running out of time.
This isn’t just about putting together another student event.
The first edition determines whether PIDEC becomes a one-time experiment or a platform that future generations of Nigerian engineers inherit and build on.
And I really, REALLY don’t want the latter to happen because we couldn’t get people to believe in it.
So I’m asking Twitter/X to help me do something.
If you know a UNILAG alumnus, founder, tech leader, company executive, investor, creator, or anyone who genuinely cares about young Nigerians building things, TAG THEM.
Don’t just like this tweet.
TAG THEM.
If you can support financially, we’ll appreciate it.
If you can introduce us to someone who can support, even better.
If all you can do is repost this and put it in front of someone who can make a difference, that matters too.
I genuinely believe Nigeria doesn’t have a shortage of brilliant young people.
We have a shortage of platforms, resources and people willing to bet on them.
Let’s change that.
Watch the video.
Tag someone.
Repost this.
Let’s make sure these students are not building in silence.

It's finally time 🚀
I'm starting a new series where I'll be breaking down technical concepts in a simple, practical way, starting with Docker.
This video explains what Docker is, why companies use it, and why it's become a must-know tool for developers.
Tomorrow, I'll be dropping a detailed article, and in the next video, we'll Dockerize a real project together.
This is just the beginning. I'd love your feedback, and if you find it helpful, a repost would mean a lot. ❤️
Now, Docker in a job description won't look so scary anymore. 😂

Many men carry burdens they never speak about. They keep showing up, providing, and supporting others, yet too often, they suffer in silence. Sometimes, all someone needs is to know that they are not alone.
So for International Men's Mental Health Day, @teslimcodes and I built something simple, personal, and human.
Bro, You Matter.
A platform where men can anonymously share encouragement, receive support, and read messages from other men who have been through difficult seasons. No generic AI quotes. Just words from men who understand.
And because protecting mental health matters just as much as promoting it, we intentionally designed the platform to reject harmful, abusive, or negative messages. This space is built for hope, support, and encouragement, not toxicity.
If one message can help one man keep going, then it's worth it. You can start encouraging and be encouraged with the link below.
And if this interests you, we would truly appreciate your repost so that it can reach more men who may need to hear that they are not alone.
Happy International Men's Mental Health Day. ❤️
Bro, you matter.

Let's do Unilag 🦅
Top tech companies founded by Unilag alumni:
• Moniepoint (Felix Ike)
• Shuttlers (Damilola Olokesusi)
• Bluechip Technologies & Voltron Capital (Olumide Soyombo)
• Termii (Emmanuel Gbolade)
• Kuda (Musty Mustapha)
• SunFi (Olaoluwa Faniyi)
• Eyowo / Softcom (Yomi Adedeji)
And the next generation is already building. I'd know, I'm one of them.
Which other ones?

Replying to @vercel
@vercel, in collaboration with Common Chronicles, hosted it’s own chapter of the Zero to Agent Buildathon in Lagos🚀
Builders came together at @nithub_lag, to design and ship AI agents and also had a couple of mentoring sessions where they got to learn how to refine ideas.
Common Chronicles is hosting its first in-person event 🇳🇬
Zero to Agent: Lagos build a real AI agent in one session. No coding experience needed.

But there can only be one!
After making it through 4 intense rounds, my team and I emerged winners of the 2026 @OfficialSquadCo Hackathon 🎉

Became a dozen-time hackathon winner today 🙏
Our team finished as 2nd runner-up at the @Microsoft AI Skills Week Hackathon after multiple selection stages, where we built RiskGuard AI, an AI-powered telecom risk intelligence system that predicts network outages, detects operational risks early, and helps operators respond faster in real time. I worked on the backend systems for the project.
Grateful for my amazing teammates, @MTNNG @TeKnowledgeGLBL @Microsoft and all the brilliant people I got to meet @NShiaki @vicradon throughout the journey.
12x wins in and still hungry for more.
Thank God always for the growth, the journey, and the wins.
