딱히 대체할 말이 없기 때문. 그냥 Korean이라 쓰면 타국에 있는 한민족은 Korean이 아닌가라는 문제가 생김. 영어로 말하는데 Hangukin 이렇게 쓰는 것도 이상함. 동포와 구분하는 말이 필요한데 그냥 풀어서 Koreans in Korea나 생소해도 Mainland Korean 쓰는 방법도 있음.

Korean-Korean이란 말도 웃기다 한국 사는 한국인은 그냥 한국인인 건데 어거지로 Korean-American이랑 대응되는 말 만든 것까지 정말 미국인답고

그리고 이건 영어로 대화를 할 때 어떻게 한민족과 한국인, 동포를 단어로 구분하느냐 문제입니다. 한국말로 “한국인”의 뜻을 규정하는 문제가 아닙니다. 위키피디아에 한민족 페이지를 들어가 보세요. 영어로 변환하면 Korean으로 연결됩니다.

근데 그냥 코리안=한국본토인으로 두고 본인들을 더 수식하면 되잖아요 왜 본인들 기준으로 본토인을 자꾸 수식해요? 이 사고흐름 자체가 되게 오만한건데 그걸 미국인들은 죽어도 모르더라고요

I understand it was so that English speaking players don’t have to read as much subtitle but as a Korean, it’s jarring to see two Koreans speak to each other in English, especially two North Koreans.

In the game, the Kim Yo Jong stand-in wears military uniform. I’ve never seen a female member of the Kim family wear a military uniform. None of them has ever held a military position. Defectors have told me they cannot imagine a woman leader commanding the military.

마찬가지로 나는 한인 이민2세들이 “한”의 감정에 대해 구구절절 얘기할때마다 님이 그게 뭔지 알아? 하는 어깃장이 놓고싶었는데 따지고보면 뭐 나는 그게 뭔지 아나 싶고. 나라고 전쟁시대를 산것도 아니고말야.

It’s been hours and it doesn’t seem likely Xi will be there. We see reports that Premier Li Qiang went instead. We will have to see what this meeting was about. Of course the big question is, are they discussing possible Trump-Kim summit?

You can tell the makers of the latest Call of Duty had Koreans advising on the writing. I’ve probably seen this happen myself 30+ times through high school.
