One last treat for you this year as the nights draw in. We wrote “Sitting by the Fire” on a little escape to the Peak District just before we began recording “All Now”, and we dragged our lovely sister Emily away from the kids to record it with us ❤️ staves.lnk.to/sbtf

These versions are about casting a light on the lyrics of these songs and the stories they tell, and also celebrating our two voices together by removing almost everything else but guitars. There is also a Beatles cover in there, too! We hope you enjoy! Xoxo

With this song in particular, after reading Geoff Emerick’s (engineer for The Beatles) book ‘Here, There and Everywhere’, we were more moved by the passage describing John and Paul in the live room at Abbey Road recording vocals for this song.

The simplicity of it felt very familiar to us and it inspired us to want to pick up the acoustic guitar and do our own version; to tell it’s story and to sing those melodies together, just our two voices.

A Weird One is out now! - the song is a rolling list of thoughts on one particular day; from the mundane to the existential. A to-do list but with the underlying hum of grief and anxiety towards what the year ahead might bring - staves.lnk.to/aweirdone
