You ungrateful bastards....while our brilliant Chancellor makes it cheaper to survive on baked beans, chocolate and gherkins.... you actually seem to want cheaper electric and gas bills, cheaper petrol and a better standard of living...you seem to forget we have a war to start...

"Revolving door."
Mr Polanski, I know you have a reputation for being scrupulous about checking your facts, but you’ve missed an important detail.
My contract requires me to remain on leave from the Lords, surrender my parliamentary pass and forgo all access and voting rights for the duration of my employment at Palantir. I do not, therefore, take any whip.
I fear this makes me rather less useful to the whips’ office than you imply.

It is beyond ridiculous that this man is still a life peer and retains the Labour whip.
Last week I went on an amateur YouTube channel to discuss a number of issues , including Israel Palestine.
They kept making a big fuss, saying to me: “we don’t edit and always show the whole interview”.
Unfortunately that was very creative with the truth. They edited what on their own could be controversial comments - released them - and kept the full interview behind a paywall.
This sort of behaviour is a part of the problem.
To be clear: I only need to talk to Jewish people about whether something is antisemitic.
If you have the chance to watch the full interview (don’t pay, hopefully they will release it) you will see me repeatedly calling for peace, a two state solution and equality for all. And you will see why I have referred the Green Party to the EHRC - the motion itself is a part of that reason.

It never even crosses their mind the harm they do simply by them being the ones to decide what is worth compromising on.
Lib Dem @michaeljswalker sits down for a chat with Gordon Brown's former economic advisor (and good friend of James Meadway). Here he outlines the economic philosophy of Novara which is 'feasible radicalism' which just equates to centrism. Same media for the same politics.

No that would be the Labour party Mike, remember? You tried to force my community to host violent racist Israeli football fans, and sacked the police chief for trying to keep us safe.

I’m old enough to remember 48 hours ago on Politics Live when the media and political class were incandescent about a non-Jewish person explaining antisemitism to a Jewish person.
Any minute now they’ll condemn Michael Gove’s vile comments towards Zack Polanski. Any minute now.
from @declassifiedUK. Here is an angry non Jewish Micheal Gove claiming he knows more about antisemitism than @ZackPolanski the only Jewish party leader.

Former intelligence officer Mike Tapp was funded by serial pro-Israeli lobbyist Stuart Roden.
Three days after he was elected, the Guardian described him one of “five fresh Labour MPs to watch”.
Five months later, he was announced as a Labour Friends of Israel vice-chair.
“Have you spoken to any Palestinian organizations before you wrote your letter?”
@ShehabKhan presses Labour MP Mike Tapp who reported the Green Party over its Zionism motion about whether he’s ever spoken to any Palestinians.
Tapp: “I don’t know any Palestinian people.”

It is a stain on us as a society that politicians are willing to relentlessly terrorise the Jewish community to justify introducing draconian free speech laws to protect Israel.
Incoming performative EHRC investigation
Very important. The National Education Union effectively rejects the key recommendations of the new Independent Antisemitism Review, rejecting the IHRA Definition and suggesting current approaches create a hierarchy of racism. Directly says the report "will not tackle antisemitism."
This review looks like yet another Labour Together Project disgrace - the long tail of McSweeney-Starmerism - that will likely inflame rather than reduce tensions in schools.
Exasperating, infuriating stuff. Imagine telling teachers - teachers! In it for the kids! - that they can't talk about or show opposition Israel's genocide against Palestinian children.
Here's what NEU's Daniel Kebede says:
"However, recommending the IHRA definition for schools risks deepening the problem rather than tackling it, and actively undermining efforts to confront antisemitism. It is the wrong approach. The IHRA’s contested framing risks blurring the line between antisemitism and legitimate criticism of the Israeli government and the genocide in Gaza, leaving teachers with uncertainty when they need clarity. A young person’s opposition to the Gaza genocide and scrutiny of the Israeli government are not, in themselves, antisemitic. Young people must have the space to understand and discuss world events. Schools must enable young people to confront difficult issues openly and develop empathy, not drive teachers into silence or leave pupils afraid to express their views. Recommending the IHRA definition risks tightening the chilling grip already stifling classroom discussion of the Gaza genocide. Schools need practical support to confront antisemitism, not a contested framework that risks shutting down legitimate discussion. The very real risk is that children who cannot critically explore issues through classroom discussion will instead seek their answers in online and unsafe groups.
“This report will not tackle antisemitism. It wrongly calls into question the professionalism of teachers. The existing rules on impartiality in the classroom are very clear and teachers take that responsibility very seriously. For three years, teachers have been responding to concerned pupils’ questions about this conflict. These classroom discussions are familiar territory, not uncharted ground. In that time there have been vanishingly few examples of the Teacher Regulation Agency holding up a complaint of lack of impartiality in the classroom.
"The NEU welcomes a strengthened focus on antisemitism in the statutory safeguarding guidance and we would encourage the Department for Education to go a step further by strengthening the guidance on all forms of racism. We are concerned that addressing antisemitism without an equally clear commitment to tackling all forms of racism risks creating a hierarchy of racism. No form of racism should be minimised, and no pupil or member of staff should receive less protection. Similarly, the NEU welcomes training for staff on recognising and challenging antisemitism, but we would like to see this in the context of wider antiracism training. The lack of training and time for staff development is a real barrier and almost two thirds of teachers (65 per cent) report that they have not received any antiracism training of any kind within the past year."
For anyone worried about this, it's worth remembering Labour just announced they'll be making it more difficult for parking companies to fine you.
The chance to keep global warming below 1.5°C with no overshoot is gone.
But urgent action can still limit the overshoot and bring warming back to 1.5°C by 2100.
Current policies, however, put the 🌎 on course for up to 2.8°C this century.
