i think it's pretty bleak that people don't understand that the normalization of a Israel in any capacity allows the continuation of genocide. the existence of Israel is founded on the mass displacement of Palestinian people in 1948, there is no Israeli identity outside of this.

it makes sense that he'd bring up HR because it started the recent popularity of hockey in media, but it's inclusion and off campus' exclusion in these kinds of critiques makes the underlying motive fairly obvious. one allows the NHL to use sexist marketing and the other doesn't.
it's frustrating bc the NHL is exploiting its player in order to appeal to a small sect of people who sexualize and objectify the players, but conflating those people with an entire NHL fanbase is blatant misogyny. the marketing is based on this misogynistic assumption as well
