The "you're not American, stay out of it" argument is ridiculous.
The U.S. has enormous influence over the rest of the world. Its presidents make decisions that affect millions of people who never voted for them.
If American politics can affect my life, I can certainly have an opinion about it.

Google illegally cleared an estimated 250,000 trees across 330 hectares of forest in Muhos, northern Finland, to prepare for a new AI data center before completing mandatory environmental impact assessments
And another 150,000 trees felled at Otanmäki

We had such outrage for one building burning down.
But silence when Google illegally chops down an entire forest.
Even though that has done far more harm.

Planting new trees doesn’t magically undo the destruction of an entire ecosystem. You cannot replace centuries of biodiversity with a few saplings. Companies that destroy our natural resources should face severe penalties, including permanent closure when warranted. We’ve reached a point where protecting the planet is treated as optional, and that needs to change.
