Seeing the powerful protests unfold, I can’t help but wonder—if I’d stayed in the US, would I have already been deported by now? Standing with those fighting for dignity, justice, and safety.
For decades, we’ve watched Japanese crafts and craftspeople be used—their mastery fueling global design trends, too often without credit or care. It’s time we honor the hands behind the work, not just the brands who benefit.
(Grateful to work with partners who truly get it.)
6 years into being an entrepreneur, I wonder if my company should have been a foundation instead of a C-corp. But then again, it's the profits that fuel preservation. Maybe it's not either-or, but both. 🤔 #TraditionalCrafts #MissionDrivenBusiness
I struggle to trust consultants. Too many give advice without having much experience executing—no skin in the game, no accountability. Strategy without execution is just theory.

We are planning to do a @pojstudio pop-up in Echo Park in Los Angeles from November 1 - January 31. Who’s around and interested to stopping by, learning Kintsugi restoration with us?

1. Everything just works
2. Everything is clean
3. Everything is the size that keeps you healthy
4. Of course the food
What else?
I thought I missed the US but after spending 2 weeks in WA state with family and almost not being able to fly back because we couldn’t find our daughters passport, the sense of relief we feel being back in Japan tells me that we’re in the right place for this time in our life.
Meaning before money? Trend or my bubble?
Back during my Twitter days a lot of candidates we interviewed were looking “to make an impact”.
Interviewing candidates now for @pojstudio all candidates are looking “for something meaningful” despite the financial implications.
As Japan is losing its power as an economy, it seems to slowly realize that culture might be the way forward. Thoughts?
So crazy to see a multitude of people publishing books about Japan after a maybe 2-3 visits to this country. What’s this all about?
In Japan Language is often considered as an achievement instead of it just being the tool to achieve something beyond.
My love for Twitter rooted in how Japan was relying on the platforms strength in real-time news and now even that’s about to change… japantimes.co.jp/japan/2023/…
How do you not get crushed by all the expectations that we carry of your business, spouse, children and parents?
