The Tulalip Tribal Chairman says the tribe has offered up a piece of land to a private equity group in hopes of luring the Sonics back to Western Washington, but stopped short of saying the tribe has committed any money to the project.
The announcement comes just weeks before the NBA is expected to make a decision on expansion to Las Vegas and Seattle.
One Roof Sports and Entertainment and Seattle Kraken Majority Owner Samantha Holloway is believed to have made a bid to bring back the Sonics to play in Climate Pledge Arena and includes billionaire Melinda French Gates and Amazon CEO Andy Jassy in her investment group.

If anyone ever tells you that The Caitlin Clark Effect isn't real, just show them this video post! 🏀📺
When @CaitlinClark22 and the Indiana Fever faced the Las Vegas Aces in Round 1, the series peaked at a massive 2.7 MILLION viewers.
Then the Fever were eliminated… and the @WNBA semifinals struggled to pull in even half that audience combined. 👀
Days later, Clark appeared as a guest picker on ESPN's @CollegeGameDay.
The result? 2.9 MILLION average viewers, with the final hour peaking at a staggering 3.7 MILLION. 🤯
That made it the most-watched fall episode in GameDay history on @espn.
She wasn't even playing basketball.
Love her or hate her, one thing is clear: The Caitlin Clark Effect is real, and she moves audiences. 📈

Women and girls who were once excluded from athletics should never have to fight for those opportunities again.
Title IX protects women and girls.
The issue isn't professional sports. It's whether girls can compete fairly, safely, and with equal opportunity.

Cooper Kupp believes in order to perform at your best, you have to stop caring about the result
“Early on mindset in the moment was… Don’t mess up. Make sure I run the right route. Get to the right spot. I’ve got so much going through my head.”
“Jared threw such a great pass…I end up missing it…A game-winning touchdown. The results aren’t always going to tell you the truth. What’s your process like? How are you going about things?”
“People are going to hate to hear that this is my mindset… But you have to not care what happens. You have to not care what the result is.”
“Get completely past… The wins and the losses. Get completely past… What the stats are going to be.”
“I work from Monday to Saturday… To make sure I prepare… And do everything I possibly can… To be the best Cooper Kupp… That I can be on Sunday.”
“The things I eat. When I show up to work. The film I’m watching. I’m as intentional as I can possibly be.”
“It doesn’t matter. I’ve already done everything I possibly can… To be in that moment. All I can do is attack it. The results do not matter.”
“I get to play from victory… Not for victory.”
“The worst thing I can do… Is look back and be like… Why didn’t I go after it? I’m just going to send it. If it doesn’t work… It doesn’t work.”
