Been meaning to do this for a few, linking up my 6 DeadForever highlight reels (bookmark here). One of the few experiences of my adult life where I felt unbridled joy. We who experienced it were so fortunate. This is night 1 from the nosebleeds, 6/20/24.

There has been a long hiatus on my #DeadDeepDive series but I’m gonna crank it back up with Europe ‘72, one of several acknowledged peaks of the band and the last real hurrah of Pigpen. Over the next several days I’m going to go REALLY deep. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europe…
My #DeadDeepDive 48, focusing on 1972, may have to broken into multiple threads. One of the most important years. The lineup changes. The song-rich “solo” albums. Europe 72, now available in multiple complete nights officially. Here’s 1/2/72 Winterland youtu.be/Ky8BBHmGMuQ?is=ARjr…

When Dead & Company broke out Mr. Charlie on the great 8/8/24, the Europe ‘72 imagery made the tribute unmistakable.

There were two honest-to-God debuts during Europe ‘72. One was The Stranger, featured earlier, and the second? None other than He’s Gone. Here’s the first performance, 4/17/72 from Copenhagen. youtu.be/Cry7ye0QPWI?is=ZVdy…

On this day in 1990, the Grateful Dead wrapped their last show in France as part of their 1990 Europe Tour 🥐 Held at the Zenith, this run would notably include the debut of Bruce’s “Stander on the Mountain.” The full performance was released this year on Dave’s Picks Vol. 55, get your copy on Dead.net and stream it now on the Play Dead app. Photos by John Laatunen and Susana Millman

I’m re-posting some jewelry that is still available. Each item comes in a box with a dog on it and helps pay for groceries, medicine and dog food! Luther says jewelry really brings a look together!

En los últimos días, me volví adicto (otra vez) a este video. Es como ver a Da Vinci pintando la Mona Lisa. Realmente es increíble que haya registro audiovisual de esta maravilla

Tom and Jerry, from (very) rough demo to finished track. All we need as songwriters is that one flash of intrigue. Something to give a glimpse into a world that we’re compelled to build out. I live for that build-out. This one was a challenge, like many are, but for new reasons. And that’s what it’s all about. (Thank you @blakeslatkin) When I was younger, I liked making the sophisticated feel simple, and something really struck me about making something that felt simple hide its sophistication. It’s a series of moments, seemingly out of order, hardly ever repeating, but ain’t that life. :) Maybe I’ll do a track-by-track walkthrough of the song? Hey thanks for listening and still giving me a place in your heart… It ain’t lost on me. ♥️
