Technology has made physical exertion optional, creating a need for physical culture. AI may similarly make independent intellectual effort optional. In the age of AI, we therefore need to develop cognitive culture — consciously preserving and training our own cognitive and creative abilities.

The PM will be flying down all the way from Delhi, to Bengaluru, to inaugurate a bloody 7.5 km metro lane—splurging crores of tax-payers’ money for a few hours’ PR circus and consequently causing huge inconvenience to the public on a weekday.
Boy, we can’t be a serious country. It’s a bloody metro lane, man; not a global dais where you’re the raison d’être. For heaven’s sake, leave the inauguration and other menial jobs to the rank and file of the concerned department #NammaMetro

.@AmitShah will be in Hyderabad today, leading a padyatra against the Congress.
Ideally, one would expect the Union Home Minister to be focused on Manipur, where five Kuki men have been killed within 24 hours.
The Home Minister has a responsibility to step in. He could visit Manipur, even if only for the sake of formality. If he is, as usual, too scared to go there, he could at least convene an urgent high-level meeting in Delhi and take stock of the situation.
But for the BJP, Manipur can wait. It has been waiting since May 2023. Congress-bashing, however, cannot.
An entire state is on edge, waiting for intervention. And the Home Minister's priority is a political march against the Opposition.
What an abject failure of a Home Minister. ALL TITLE, NO RESPONSIBILITY.

For those who claim there was the same level of corruption under the congress and the BJP
2004-2014
- 63 Corruption cases worth ₹3,129 Crore was filed against Ministers/MP/MLA of the Congress or their Allies
- 25 Ministers/MPs of the Ruling Party went to Jail for an average of 16 1/2 months
- Every Media Channel covered each case extensively
- The Ruling Party acknowledged the problem through the Prime Minister
- EVERY CASE WENT TO COURT
2014-2026 :-
- Not a SINGLE corruption case has been filed against a single Minister/MLA/MP of the BJP or their allies
- Not a SINGLE Minister/MP/MLA of the Ruling BJP has gone to jail on corruption charges
- Media Channels have never covered a single corruption allegation of the Ruling BJP or their allies
- The Ruling Party has not acknowledged a single allegation of corruption
- 157 cases were filed against opposition party Ministers/MPs/MLAs for ₹ 94,573 Crore of which 68 cases worth ₹ 81,600 Crore were WITHDRAWN
- 37 out of the 44 Ministers/MPs/MLAs in these 68 cases since have joined the BJP
The BJP institutionalized and legalized high level corruption

The ultimate scam being sold to the good, unsuspecting people of India:
“We’re working tirelessly to develop India. Please don’t question us, demand accountability, or ask for results. Just trust us. All our efforts will magically bear fruit in 2047.”
A 25-year promise. Zero accountability today.

Sam Altman thinks RAM sitting in personal computers is a waste when it could be put to better use in data centers.
Weird. I was just thinking that all those billions sitting in billionaires’ bank accounts could be put to much better use in our communities.

Hello @nsitharaman Ji, Dragging Congress's historical failures into every debate is an excuse to escape accountability.
Yes, Congress made mistakes. Yes, there were banking scandals, political interference and questionable lending decisions. Nobody is asking you to give Congress a clean chit. But does that automatically make the BJP government competent, transparent or corruption-free?
You cannot spend years blaming previous governments while refusing to take responsibility for your own failures. If IDBI needed ₹25,000 crore of taxpayers' money to revive it, don't present that as some extraordinary achievement. It is taxpayers' money, not money from the pockets of BJP leaders.
And what about today's banking sector? What about corporate loan write-offs, NPAs, corporate insolvencies, banking governance, political-business connections and accountability for financial irregularities? Why is there selective outrage?
A White Paper is not a certificate of good governance. Historical failures are not a licence for present-day incompetence.
Congress's failures do not make BJP's decisions automatically right. Indians deserve answers from the government in power today, not endless lectures about what happened decades ago.
Stop treating every legitimate question as an opportunity to blame Congress. GOVERNANCE IS ABOUT PERFORMANCE AND ACCOUNTABILITY, NOT PERMANENT WHATABOUTERY!
We all know how @INCIndia has used Banks and financial institutions as personal entities and pressured bank employees to extend loans at their whim, bypassing prudent lending norms.
Let me list a few instances.
- In 1957, Haridas Mundra got money from LIC due to influence by the Congress leaders.
- In 1976, Indira Gandhi's government removed SBI Chairman R.K. Talwar after he refused political pressure to relax lending conditions for a company linked to Sanjay Gandhi's circle.
- Sanjay Gandhi pressured the Central Bank of India over loans to Maruti.
- B. Janardhana Poojary, MoS Finance under Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi — pressured bank employees to issue loans in the 1980s.
- Pawan Kumar Bansal, as a minister in the UPA, pressured Canara Bank to give loans to his family-linked businesses.
The IDBI Bank was handed over to us in poor shape, as IDBI itself was forced to lend to large business groups with close connections to @INCIndia leaders such as Videocon, Winsome, ABG Shipyard, Kingfisher, etc. These turned into bad loans, causing huge losses for IDBI Bank, which we recognised.
The NDA govt led by Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi revived the IDBI bank through professionalism, prudence and recapitalisation of more than Rs 25,000 crores. The IDBI Bank is now poised for its next phase of growth.
All due process has been followed in the IDBI Bank strategic restructuring, and we have already clarified this yesterday.

Many more instances of blatant scams and economic mismanagement have been covered in the White Paper on the Indian Economy released in February 2024. It remains relevant even now.

Your lies with respect to Rafale had failed and were exposed. You had to apologise. The same will happen here.
Congress-era banking had a phonebook for the powerful and a rulebook for the common citizens.
The era of 'connection and setting banking' is over.
Common people now have easy access to loans, and employees are not under pressure to extend loans over the phone calls.

This is it.
Everyone is excited about AI.
I'm not.
AI is the biggest commoditizer of human capability we have ever built. Doctors earn more than cleaners because expertise takes a decade to acquire and judgment to apply. AI is going to make most of that expertise available to anyone, at marginal cost.
The gap doesn't go to zero. But it shrinks. And the same thing happens in almost every knowledge profession. Programmers. Lawyers. Analysts. Traders. Designers. The taxi driver replaced by a robotaxi is the easy case. The harder ones are people who spent twenty years training to do something a model can now do in a second.
The one corner of human life I don't see this hitting is sport. Nobody pays to watch a robot beat a human. The whole appeal is humans competing against each other. That's why nobody watches Deep Blue play chess anymore.
From an investing perspective, the next decade plays out in three phases.
Phase 1 is the buildout. Hundreds of billions in capex on chips, data centers, and energy. This is what's driving today's market.
Phase 2 is the deployment. Productivity rises sharply, then deflation sets in as the cost of knowledge work collapses. Jobs disappear faster than the economy can replace them.
Phase 3 is the social adjustment. Capital becomes more powerful than labor. The biggest winners are likely to sit where AI cannot reach. Real assets. Energy. Commodities. Precious metals. Scarce land.
And there's something deeper than the economics. The Japanese have a word for it: ikigai. The reason you get up in the morning. Your vocation. Your purpose. The work that makes you feel needed. AI is coming for that too. Nobody has yet figured out what a healthy society does when most of its members no longer feel needed by anything.
I might be wrong. I hope I am.
If I'm not, the world is about to change faster than most people are ready for.
