Last week, UWONET held a five-day Regional Exchange and Learning Circle facilitated by Partners for Research and Innovation (PRI), a Bujumbura-based consultancy.
Discussions highlighted the need to strengthen institutional capacity, build internal cohesion, and develop a feminist charter. Participants also called for co-created funding approaches, physical and digital safety training, and a solidarity protocol to support organisations and partners.
These reflections will help strengthen regional collaboration and shape collective advocacy.

Together with our regional partners, Rwanda Women’s Network visited Isange One Stop Centre in Kacyiru to learn from Rwanda’s approach to supporting survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) and child abuse.
The visit was part of a regional planning workshop focused on strengthening referral systems, building service providers’ skills, and improving access to coordinated, survivor-centred support.
By learning from Rwanda’s experience and sharing knowledge across countries, partners are working towards stronger cooperation and more holistic support for women and girls affected by sexual and gender-based violence (S/GBV).
