Been looking into @metricxyz, a project taking a different approach to onchain liquidity.
Traditional AMMs often rely on arbitrage traders to correct price differences between liquidity pools and broader markets.
Metric introduces Active Pools, designed to use external reference prices to guide pool pricing instead of relying solely on the token ratio within a pool.
Why does this matter?
• Price alignment: Pools can adjust their quotes based on reference market prices.
• RWA potential: Tokenized stocks, ETFs and commodities need reliable pricing infrastructure to support onchain trading.
• Permissionless liquidity: Users can trade, provide liquidity and deploy their own pools.
The team is also worth noting. Metric CTO, @CGkol , previously spent 3.5 years at Uniswap Labs before joining Metric in October 2026.
Tokenization is only the first step. Building efficient liquidity and reliable price discovery is what makes onchain markets more practical.
Metric is a project worth keeping an eye on as RWA and DeFi continue to converge.
