Anderson Cooper: Do you want democrats to win control of the Senate?
Haley Stevens: I absolutely do. I just- I'm just casting my vote this one way--
Anderson Cooper: With all due respect, you're casting your vote that way and you're on television right now talking about it and you had a press conference earlier, so you're not just casting your vote, you are very publicly casting your vote. That's what you're doing, right?

Hey in case anyone's waffling here. Keep Mike Rogers far, far away from the US Senate.

People saying Haley is putting country over party. She’s not. She’s putting herself over both.

Congrats on being the saddest sore loser in politics since Trump 2020! Historic stuff.

I didn’t think it was possible to combine primary-loser-sour-grapes & Islamophobia into a more toxic cocktail than Andrew Cuomo. But Haley Stevens has managed to do it.
If she wants to betray civil rights, reproductive freedom, immigrant protections, and working families by endorsing Mike Rogers and trying to give control of the Senate to J.D. Vance and Donald Trump, I guess that's her business — but it’s appalling, oddly patronizing, and simply false to claim that it’s in the interest of Michigan’s Jewish communities.
Our safety comes from welcoming the stranger, fighting for universal human rights, and building pluralist democracy — not from endorsing neo-Nazi adjacent MAGA fanatics.
Fortunately, there’s a powerful response of solidarity and shared safety, that every Jewish & non-Jewish Michigander can do on Tuesday:
Vote for @AbdulElSayed

Oh are you now going to commit and make the actual case that you think people should proactively vote for Rogers and explain why he specifically is a better choice?

The GOP changed the size of the Supreme Court from 9 to 8 way back in… 2016. It’s not the first time the size of the court has been changed. Was it destroyed each time, or nah? Also, adding new states is a legit policy position.

I supported Haley Stevens—she was my friend. I am shocked by her decision to support an anti-choice Trump Republican. Rogers attacks on Dr. El Sayed have been disgusting and his votes to take resources away from vulnerable people cruel. As a proud Arab American and Democrat I support a candidate who cares about everyone getting opportunities to have a good life. Shame on you Haley Shame Shame.

Standing with Miker Rogers is a betrayal of everything Haley Stevens has fought for her entire career. It's also a betrayal of all of her supporters that believed in her. I hope @AbdulElSayed has a strong victory on Tuesday and that all Democrats and like-minded independents support vote for him.

You could have just called @VanJones68 a nigger, instead of whatever the fuck passive- aggressive dogshit this is.
Always knew you were racist trash.
If you're black, I have the easiest Halloween costume for you. Wrap an Israeli flag around you, and just start calling everyone you see an antisemite. Voila, you're @VanJones68.

I'm sure that the people who get sent to torture prisons in El Salvador or get shot in the face by ICE or get killed in the war with Iran will understand that @HaleyforMI's hurt feelings were more important.

I spoke with Haley Stevens yesterday.
Feeling a bit absurd in pointing out the obvious and being far kinder than I should have been, I reminded her that the outcome of this senate race will be viewed in the light of a future Supreme Court vacancy, and I expressed a hope that all of us understand the stakes.
She assured me she's supporting Dr. El-Sayed, sent me a video of a recent speech she gave blasting Mike Rogers and said this: "Still stands. I promise."
She also said she's been sending this video to other folks to make it clear where she stands on this race.
Again: that was yesterday.
I have known Haley Stevens for years. I have counted her as a friend and an ally. We've had many thoughtful conversations about this country, and she has never failed to remind me that her mother is a fan of my writing.
Whatever other political differences we have, she has always made it clear to me she would stand with LGBTQ people. It was a red line she refused to cross.
Instead, she has made the inexplicable decision to endorse a man who views LGBTQ Americans as second-class citizens unworthy of full equality.
I can't help but wonder what her mother must be thinking right now.
I have no idea what has happened to the person I thought I knew, but clearly, she has completely taken leave of her senses in endorsing a Republican who is little more than a Trump sycophant -- less than 24 hours after promising me that she has not wavered from the bigger picture.
I am disgusted with her cynicism and cowardice in this moment. God forgive me for trusting her.
If you're a Michigan voter and as disgusted as I am, get to your polling place and vote for Dr. El-Sayed.
