I appreciate and admire good game sense, but this isn't that. Game sense is knowing when to preaim and prefire, not when to shoot at a wall too early and give them time to know what you're doing. This isn't even good gamesense, hence why op wants to call it luck.

It's fuckin bizarre to me that we think good game sense is simultaneously rushing midlane in the open only to then subsequently shoot at a wall Yeah that's much more plausible than rushing midlane cause you can bot toggle and know you can ego chall anyone

I'm sympathetic to people who think that it's at least possible to clip farm enough to do some of these shots, but come on. One clip here is instantly snapping on a target 90 degrees off through a wall, without audio, instantly. You don't train that!
This is literally just aimbot gameplay. Not even the fastest CS2 player has aim like this. If these guys were this good, They would already be doing Esports to make easy money.

I find the idea that mechanical aim skill is "within the control" of newer players baffling. Like do we believe that anyone could be Shroud with enough practice? And donwe really need every shooter in every genre to play like Aimlabs, such that aim skill supplants other skills?

We know what this looks like a little bit from Tarkov once people start getting late wipe guns with low MOA, suddenly flick aim starts mattering more and more relative to positioning. Surely we can have one game or two where that's less true?

I think this response remains a cope whenever it is said for any art, it's trivially true even if the art was never released and shown to noone. But in any case the argument is this would improve *retention*, not broad appeal, so whether it's niche is irrelevant!

People bouncing off because of no safe pocket aren't failing to appreciate the core loop, like asking for an arena mode! They're trying to engage with it and stop when they feel the game isn't equipping them with the threshold requirements needed to get past a barrier to entry.

And to steelman that more, the argument made is an inference from the wide array of aberrations. I'm not saying I'm persuaded it was fraud, but the argument is that fraud explains the sheer number of difficult to prove but odd behavior better than "it's just weird this year".

It isn't responsive to the concern to say that no particular instances were proven out, because the argument is that atomizing each individual questionable instance is myopic.

Have moral code that makes no sense > that’s okay I break that code all the time anyway > well in some hypothetical utopia I wouldn’t need to break it cuz no one would ever be made to deliver food in the rain > HOW COULD CAPITALISM DO THIS TO ME

I'm so sick of this pretentious horseshit. These people would have you believe that before extraction shooters, no game has successfully depicted a hostile setting in which the environment and its denizens were a persistent threat. Nevermind that most of the genre is PvE!
The brutality of the genre is part of the art direction, though. Tau Ceti IV very clearly does not want you here, and every advancement you make has to be fought or scavenged for. Adding a PvE mode thats more palatable for the masses directly detracts from that art direction.

People will find ludonarrative synchronicity in the most superficial fucking places now just so they can gatekeep the accessibility of the artwork they're praising. What are we even doing? Has there never been a challenging PvE game before? One made by the same studio, even?

I think the game is severely over-hyped by people who have not played enough Apex or Tarkov. It's an interesting but unbalanced mix of the two. Worth the money! But engagements are shallower than Apex and the loot is less important than Tarkov. Plays too much like a Destiny BR.
Now that Cryo Archive and Ranked mode are finally out, what’s your verdict on Marathon?
213
None of these insufferable glazers would be saying this shit if Marathon had three times the players. They'd scream that shit from the rooftops, not saying "fuck, they made a game for noone, there's too many people playing it"! It's a dodge to avoid the obvious Arc comparison.
A game for everyone is a game for no one. I’ll be curious how bungies “get good or get fucked” approach pans out. Frankly I like it. Specific niche experiences are always more rich/robust. Shifting the window for limited time modes regularly would be a strong move. Curious to see how the playerbase shifts in size over time. As it currently stands, I have VERY LITTLE opportunity to play Cryo archive and that’s just how it is. Looks sick tho

How many former Tarkov players have to complain about the game's UI, small maps, hero shooter abilities undermining the gear chase, and movement problems like lateral sprint adjustments slowing you before you people will believe us when we say we actually don't like it?

Tarkov doesn't slow you if you shift left during a sprint or send you into a floaty jump on mantle cancel. It's also relatively easy to tell different consumables apart, with the exception of maybe three red injectors and two ammo types, each of which do similar things anyway.

The steam charts are relevant because this is a live service game with mixed matchmaking pools. The quality and speed of the game's matchmaking have a direct relationship to playerbase. The game's quality is dependent on it. It's not some irrelevant detail, this is a problem.

You are absolutely clueless. This isn't about @awscloud being too big, it is about AWS being so reliable that very large companies built non-resilient systems and got burned over it. My companies services failed over from us-east-1 to us-east-2 like they were supposed to, without disruption.

Feminism has come to serve a similar role that race did in rationalizing slavery; people with goals unrelated to gender use feminism to bludgeon enemies, just as the slave-owning South spread racism to rationalize their desire for slaves.
Opinions on Feminism that will leave you like this

The hostility to choice-feminism of the old days makes less sense if you think it's about efficacy (think of RBG and the civil rights legal advocacy against patriarchy during that wave). But it makes more sense if you think that defuses a powerful weapon for nonfeminist causes.

If you find yourself saying, "The people who are flipping out about stupid jokes that a bunch of young people said in private because they are offensive, are the enemies of The Woke" something has gone wrong in your nomenclature.
