Tragedy in star hotel pool in #Bengaluru
Two foreign nationals, 57-year-old German Alexander Maximilian Theiss (Lufthansa) and 45-year-old Slovakian Juraj Horvat (IBM) died of suspected electrocution in the swimming pool of Conrad Hotel in Ulsoor. A US guest and a hotel pool attendant were injured.

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) seized around 13,000 air fryers and portable blenders worth ₹20 crore from GRIPIT’s warehouse in Yelahanka on October 27.
The products, marketed under the Ninja brand, allegedly lacked the mandatory BIS Standard Mark, violating the Electrical Appliances for Kitchen (Quality Control) Order, 2023. Legal proceedings are being initiated under the BIS Act, 2016. #Bengaluru #BIS #ConsumerSafety #Karnataka

Sugarcane farmers’ protest has now spread to southern Karnataka, with farmers’ led by Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha protest at the toll plaza on the Bengaluru–Mysuru Access controlled Highway near Ganangur village in Srirangapatna taluk of Mandya district. Later district-in-charge minister N Cheluvarayaswamy met farmers and assured them that the state govt would take up their demands with the Centre. A meeting with farmers is scheduled for Oct 26.

Videos showing revellers pushing past barricades and tussling with police personnel at north #Kolkata’s Chorbagan Durga Puja pandal has brought into focus the mounting crowd pressure at the venue in the days leading up to Saturday’s stampede, which claimed 19 lives and left 25 people injured.
The pandal, one of the city’s biggest crowd-pullers this year, had witnessed heavy footfall since opening, with temporary restrictions on crowd movement imposed on multiple occasions over the preceding four days to stagger the rush.
