I guess it speaks to Fielder’s genius he’s able to spur these debates, but kind of losing my mind at how few are able to recognize humans are able to build elaborate systems, both institutional and mental, to avoid confronting (both real and perceived) load bearing failure points

maybe every year at this time i'll remember when i went to a halloween party and my ex didn't have a costume. so he laid down in the driveway, covered himself with torn newspaper and started moaning. as a costume. a few people stood around like, huh. how about that nn🩷🌒

many men say they'd go back in time to kill baby hitler, but only a real man would go back in time to marry hitlers mother and raise baby hitler in a safe and loving environment which will allow him to grow into the best version of himself

i still don’t understand the details of theranos. after the movie,i have questions instead of answers. not about “should she be in prison” or whatever, but about how the convoluted layers of deceit are organized exactly. enjoyed the mindfuck

i wouldn’t jump to say this (or any) conclusion is right. i could also hypothesize that she sought out men who not only had money but whose dominant personalities could take the blame. but in any case, these relationships were central to my fascination
Really don't think I've seen a single person give an accurate reading of Elizabeth Holmes' whole deal: that she likes to psychically offload the complexities of life to controlling men so she can retreat and live her dream of playing scientist.

I’m not sure of the claim that *requiring* kids to hug their grandparents or aunties will make them more likely to molested/less likely or able to promptly report abuse but like…it’s probably generally better for adults to be chill about it anyway
I think kids should hug their grandmas but also I think it’s weird for adults to throw fits and guilt kids into hugging them. Yeah hugging grandma is good but kids won’t wanna do it if she’s weird about it you know

highlight was being on a path next to a little boy, dragging his feet while sitting on a bicycle his parents behind him yelling, “use the pedals!use the pedals!” and when he finally did, they cheered no picture of that
