good afternoon @felix_ellis, @MurrayWatt, and anybody else curious about letting industry mark its own homework. the RFA is your devolution pilot—it didn’t work
matters of national environmental significance must remain national #politas
You smell that? Do you smell that? Self-regulation, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of self-regulation in the morning #politas assets.sttas.com.au/uploads/…
kudos to Josh Willie MP and Ella Haddad MP for this. Haddad MP has been pushing spending caps for years, and it's good to see them finally bought forward #politas
some will recall 2023 when Labor refused to move/support amendments in the LegCo, saying it was ‘unacceptable’ for another election to be held without donation laws, and promising further reform at the ‘earliest opportunity’
we've since had two elections anyway: 2024 with no state disclosure at all, and 2025 with the law switched on just 18 days before polling day—still no caps
here's hoping this is a precursor for more genuine leadership & decisions that are made on principle rather than political convenience
Replying to @virtualmusing
following a question to the Premier about wait times to see school psychologists, the politically astute Mayor of Launceston Matthew Garwood asks if they’re done with the Foo Fighters and steps away from the cameras #politas
kudos to @john_macgowan for a sober & sensible take on Things amidst a sea of inflammatory garbage
